Anybody know this movie?

I remember this as a kid (I'm 30 now). But no idea from what movie...

A cop or state trooper is standing by an 18 wheeler on the side of a highway, nothing is around. He is questioning a guy in a tan trenchcoat and tells him to put his hands up. As the trenchcoat guy complies, we notice that there is a double barreled shotgun in his sleeve. Once its level with the cops chest, he fires, producing the nastiest gaping shotgun wound I think I've ever seen. The cop flies back and the bad guy goes on his way.

Its been years but that scene from where ever has always stuck with me. I would love some help with this mystery. Thanks!

Cobra comes to mind, but I think that scene involved a van.

A few years ago I asked a similar questions, but cannot find the old thread for some reason.

If this is the same movie, there is a scene where an assassin is cutting off the end of a lightbulb, filling the bulb with gasoline or something, and reattaching the end. Later, when his target enters the room, he flips on the switch and the bulb explodes.

I seem to remember something like this with Sean Connery being the guy fixing the lightbulb. I can't, however, remember what the movie was.

This I know I've seen. Could it be The Exterminator? Haven't seen it in awhile.

Asked a friend and he says the lightbulb scene is from the original The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds.

Thanks, HN! "Soldier" was the name of it - not the Kurt Russell film, a different one:

I could picture the lead actor but couldn't remember the name - Ken Wahl.
