How does HD-DVD/Blu-ray look on 32 inch HDTVs?

I have a 32 HDTV (Zenith) and HD looks stunning "Over the Air".

So, I was wonder if anyone with HD-DVD/BlueRay have them hooked up to a 32inch HDTV.

-Is there a big difference from DVD with the smaller screen?
-Are you using DVI or Component?

Thanks

I have a 30" wide screen CRT TV and the difference between SD and HD DVD is stunning. And I use HDMI.

I have an HP Pavillion 32" LCD TV connected via HDMI and HD DVD's provide the best looking picture so far. Most titles will look better than the best over the air broadcasts.

I have a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV and HD-DVD looks incredible. Definitely a noticeable difference between the SD-DVD and HD-DVD versions when I do A-B comparisons. I'm using an HDMI cable.

I am encouraged, Santa may deliver a HD-DVD player this Christmas, I cannot afford a BlueRay player.

Ditto (only using component).

Why bother getting BR if you can get awesome HD quality with HD DVD? Not to start a BR vs HD DVD thread, but if your budget is limited, go with HD DVD (heck, I don't have a limited budget and I STILL go for HD DVD. I might pick up B R in the future, but for now I don't see a single reason to go for BR).

I can tell the difference on a 32 inch screen.

You don't get the full res - but it is very sharp.

I'm looking for a 1080p 42" to 46" display right now...

Well, I now see that HD-DVD 2nd Gen player that has the DVI connection will cost about $999.00, this is way out of my ball park.

I will wait for another year for the prices to fall and the to see if one of the formats will win the war.

DVI? They all have HDMI, you don't need to get the $999 model to get a digital video connection. All it adds is the (still future) new version of HDMI, 1.3. Among HDDVD players, the A1 is the best value. Or possibly the Xbox add-on, if you already have an Xbox. (don't know specs on it, though)

This is good to know, I have a 30" CRT HDTV. I'm still gonna wait till there is a clearer view of who may win the format war. I do want the PS3.

Why don't you buy the HD-A1 for $399 of HD-A2 for $499? Besides HD DVD quality; it will also upconvert SD DVDs.

I don't think this format war will eliminate HD DVD or BR. They will co-exist, like DVD+R and DVD-R until the next generation.

Agree on the first part but not on the 2nd.
