Ethical question before posting a magazine deal
So, our daughter's school is doing a magazine subscription fundraiser. Normally, the prices suck (or are average), and we just sell to the relatives.
But this year, there are at least two or three superb deals (including one popular one coming in at 50% off the best price at magazinepricesearch.com). And they accept internet orders.
I know the forum has strict rules on posting the usual pyramid schemes or any attempt to directly make money off the forum. But I also know that if someone else came across the deal without a vested interest in supporting the school, they could (and would) post it, as it's an open deal accessable via the web. That said, I don't want to break any forum rules.
So, does anyone (and by "anyone," I mean "preferably administrators,") know whether it would be legit to post this sort of thing?

generally speaking, if there is a referral link and / or you get any kind of kickback from the deal, it shouldn't be posted.
If you can post it in a generic form (where you get nothing), which it sounds like you can do, it is postable.
Keep in mind there are a lot of parents here, and I'm sure a lot of them would love to get their kids school fundraiser money from people on the site. It could get messy if everyone started posting that kind of thing.

Pip, good point. I don't know if it's possible to post without a code (since it's a matter of entering code numbers, istead of picking from a menu), but I'll see if it's possible. But otherwise, yeah, it could lead to a very messy slippery slope.

We generally don't allow posting of deals that help the poster or their relatives, friends, or their company in a way that they get credit for the sales. I'll take this up with Geoff to make sure whether this fits those cases.
Thanks for asking first.

Sorry, this is no exception to our rules so you can't post it.
