DVD Talk review of 'Story of A Cloistered Nun'
Story of a Cloistered Nun
NoShame continues it's collection and release of obscure gems onto DVD for US region one release and gathering from the review, this sounds like it's right up my alley.
The review mentions that this film helped jump start the nunsploitation bandwagon - that maybe the case as the film's got progessively more over the top and graphic. However, there is a 1961 Polish film from director Jerzy Kawalerowicz entitled Mother Joan of the Angels (Matka Joanna od aniolów) that is a literal blueprint and basis for Aldous Huxley's 'The Devils of Loudon' and Ken Russell's 'The Devils' - that while more subtle in nature features the quintessential key signs of demonic possession - the inverted crablike body contortion (featured in both 'The Devil's and Friedkin's director's cut of 'The Exorcist')
This film will most definately get added to my Netflix DVD queue.
