All 3 seasons of the original series as well as seasons 6 & 7 of Next Gen and DS9 are also scheduled to drop in price to $51.43 each. All the price changes are scheduled for August 22.

I'm surprised that the original series got a price drop before Voyager and Enterprise did.

thedigitalbits posted recently that every episode of TOS is being remastered in High def for eventual release on an HD format. It could be awhile, but if you've been waiting this long to pick them up it might be good to wait.

Hmm, definitely tempted. If I can get the entire original series a little closer to $100 (DDD sale maybe) I will jump. Not too concerned with getting this one in HD as they will probably mark it up big time.

Can't justify when it's in perpetual syndication.

Sometimes I kick myself for buying all 40 volumes for $13-$15 each a few short years ago.

$15 X 40 = $600!!

Grrrrr.... $137 for the entire series is a STEAL!

Not to mention how much space those 40 volumes take up on your shelf compared to the 3 season box sets.

I'll be spending a lot more than normal, but I know what my mom is getting for christmas... she's been wanting TOS on DVD for years (since the individual releases), but the pricetags literally made her face white...

Did you ever buy the single episodes on video tape? $15.00 per EPISODE. Now that was expensive stuff. I think that's why I never second guessed the TNG prices when they first came out, because it was a bargain even at 100.00 per season after paying those prices for the same episodes on VHS!
