thanks to Mr. Galbraith's review, I'll save my money on this one. I bought the six-episode compilation that Warner offered last Fall, and "F Troop" simply didn't hold up well for me ("Welcome Back Kotter" is another). I'm always happy to see a vintage TV series get a full season release, but the Warner "Television Favorites" sampler was enough for me.

I see nothing wrong with this series.Great chemistry between the actors.Somebody must of liked it in the 60's since it lasted more than one year.I think Gomer Pyle was influenced from this series.There is alot of crap in the world of tv sitcoms and this ranks well above it.

Stuart's reviews of old black & white sitcoms tend to be very negative. If you want a fair perspective, you might want to read other people's reviews before you decide either way.

I don't understand this review at all. I'm only 26 years old, but I freakin' love F Troop, always have and always will. I don't think 1 1/2 stars out of 5 is fair at all, even if you aren't a fan of most of the old black & white sitcoms. It's got an overall score of 8.2 at TV.com and Mark Zimmer's review at DigitallyObsessed is positive in every way other than special features (since there aren't any). No, this isn't the best show of the time period, there were a few that were quite a bit better, but F Troop is perfectly acceptable goofy and entertaining old school sitcom fair.

Sure, my opinion is slanted since I am indeed a fan of the show, but still...
