Just got a 300gb hd, need a good deal on ENCASING!!!

hey guys!

i just got this maxtor 300gb from office depot ($139.99 - $60 mail-in rebate/i was also able to find a $20 off $100 coupon code and apply it, so total cost will be about $70 with tax) but now i need a relatively cheap encasing for it.

has anybody come across any good deals recently?
thanks!

Tiger Direct usually has some good deals. This one is $49.99 with a $30 rebate. Looks nice for 20 bucks.

What's the point of encasing again?

Portability, frees up space in your PC, money saver if you only have a laptop.

There are a bunch of reasons.

Here's another good site:

Those are good reasons to have an external hard drive. I'm confused about the "encasing."

I figured she meant enclosure, as well.

that maxtor looks like a good deal. anyone know how good this drive is? not sure i understand what enclosure is. so it enables you to use an internal hdd, as an external hdd? why not just buy an external drive?

I don't know about the quality of the HD, but for example the OP can have an external 300 GB HD for under $100, whilst buying an external 100 GB HD is around $190 at Best Buy. (I know this isn't the best deal, just for comparisons sake)
