Cars Soundtrack / Blue Collar Comedy Tour (new CDs 6/6/06)

Both of these are new releases on Tuesday, June 6, and are $9.99 each at both Best Buy and Circuit City.

The Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One for the Road double-CD looks good, I think I'll be picking it up. I guess it helps if you like that type of humor.

As far as the Cars Soundtrack goes... I'm a fan of soundtracks, but this one seems to just have eight songs and a bunch of clips from the movie. Not worth it in my opinion. But speaking of soundtracks, I ran across a good one about a month ago - Hoot Soundtrack. Has four or five Jimmy Buffet songs, mostly covers (Bruce Cockburn's "Wondering Where the Lions Are" and the late Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London"). But back to Cars, I just don't see it worth $9.99.

1. Real Gone - Sheryl Crow
2. Route 66 - Chuck Berry
3. Life Is A Highway - Rascal Flatts
4. Behind The Clouds - Brad Paisley
5. Our Town - James Taylor
6. Sh-Boom - The Chords
7. Route 66 - John Mayer
8. Find Yourself - Brad Paisley
9. Opening Race
10. McQueen's Lost
11. My Heart Would Know - Hank Williams Listen Listen Listen
12. Bessie
13. Dirt Is Different
14. New Road
15. Tractor Tipping
16. McQueen And Sally
17. Goodbye
18. Pre-Race Pageantry
19. The Piston Cup
20. The Big Race

Do you own any other Pixar soundtracks?
  • Toy Story has four songs with vocals and the other twelve are from the score.
  • A Bug's Life has one song with vocals and the other nineteen are from the score.
  • Toy Story II has three songs with vocals and the other seventeen are from the score.
  • Monsters, Inc. has two songs with vocals and the other twenty-three are from the score.
  • Finding Nemo has one song with vocals and the other thirty-nine are from the score.
  • the Incredibles has no vocal tracks.
  • Cars has nine songs with vocals and the other eleven tracks are from the score.
Looks about right (actually this has the most vocal tracks of any Pixar soundtrack) and, IMO, $9.99 is about the right price...

Judging from the performers, I'd rather have an all score album. There may be one, I haven't checked.
