*NEW* Nelly Furtado - "Loose"
Is there any interest for this? I've heard a few tracks/seen a couple videos, including the current US single "Promiscuous"... they're all pretty good/catchy, and the feel is a lot more 'commercial' than her previous cd, "Folklore" (which was one of my favorite albums of '03)- not sure yet if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
either way, ill be getting this on 6/20 (and hopefully downloading sooner)

I'm getting this for sure. I've been a big Nelly F fan since she started out, she's also pretty good live too. I'm really digging her new direction. Promiscuous has a great beat and is catchy as all hell...even the dance single No Hay Igual I really liked, and I can't understand a single word! I've been waiting and waiting for this album and it looks like it won't disappoint.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad she's back with more. She's one of those pop artists I wish we had more of. I mean, who else asks Bela Fleck and the Kronos Quartet to help them out on the same album? Genius.
I'm a big fan of Timbaland's production; well - to be precise, his constantly syncopated beats and use of flutes, not the worthless synths that ruin his production most of the time.
I'm not particularly impressed by either of these songs so far, but I'm getting this album regardless. I'm willing to stick with Nelly for the next couple of years based on the strength of her early work.

Heard the first single. Not impressed. Even though I wasn't that big a fan of Nelly's first two albums, they sounded unique.
"Promiscuous" sounds like typical Top 40 crap (in particular, that LL Cool J song with Jennifer Lopez produced by someone vastly inferior to Timbaland).

I did see the Sounds at the Agora Ballroom a few years back and took 100's of pix which I promised to post here and never did. Shame on me.
How crowded was the show? I called the day of and they said they had lots of tickets left. I'd called earlier to get a photo pass but the darn PR flak was on vacation that week and I couldn't get any live people to answer phones (except for the initial one) so I said screw it.
On topic: I have a Nelly cd but never really listened to it much.

She is hit and miss with me. I love turn off the lights, but hate that stupid butterfly song. I like the buzz around her new album, definitely going to check it out

Definetly looking forward to this album. I just heard Promiscuous this weekend for the first time and saw the video today (I can't stop playing it today.) Loved her 1st disc and the 2nd really grew on my as well.

After seeing her on SNL I am filled with dread for this new album.
Of all the artists to emulate, why FERGIE?
This is like Badly Drawn Boy deciding to act and sound like Ryan Cabrera.

she was wearing white pants before memorial day
and she got a big ol booty
and she was stomping around the stage like an elephant wearing one pump and one stiletto

I saw Maneater on SNL and couldn't figure out who it was...only that it sucked...hard. My fiance said it was Nelly and I said something like "get the fuck out...no way that's her". Sure enough, it was.
I liked the few tracks I'd heard from her, but what I saw last night was Generic Pop Diva.

lol.
I saw the SNL performance, and cringed. I've seen her live ages ago and she was very good, but then I saw this, and the whole Fergie/Gwen Stefani look isn't working for her. The song sounded good okay, but yee-ikes.
