You can try a PO Box. Or wait ~6 months and hope CH forget about their issues with you.

What did you do to get blacklisted? Multiple copies of the same DVD, perhaps?

My address got blacklisted i believe, just because several applications were ignored it seemed. If you just use a different address to signup with the initial enrollment package, then you can login to the site and update to your old address.

If you do get blacklisted, you'll get a letter essentially telling you so. Lost applications are common and don't imply blacklisting.

I had an account during the last wave of B1G1 sales and places 7 orders of 4 discs each. For some reason they claimed they couldn't charge my credit card for the "Buy Ones" but sent me the "Get Ones" anyway. Eventually the unfulfilled orders disappearred and I cancelled the account. I figured, they screwed up and I got 14 free dvds (My credit card was fine by the way, I've used it successfully online before, during and since this incident.)

Every application I've sent in since then has "dissappeared." I've never recieved a rejection letter. I'm assuming I or my credit card has been blacklisted.

I was just getting back into the Columbia House, and really didn't want it to end so soon.

Try calling in some applications. They get "lost" less frequently, for whatever reason. You are allowed two accounts at a time, so I cannot see why applying for a new account the day you closed one would be a problem.

If calling in an application does not work, a PO Box will likely solve your problems.

You probably need to use a new CC and email address also.

About blacklisting, is it ok with CH, if you order a lot of DVD as long as you do not order duplicate titles. Basically I am asking if a person orders 150 dvd of different titles over a years time, are they ok?

Should be fine. I've gotten a LOT of the titles in my collection from CH. Well over 500, I'd guess.

I've been on the blacklist for about 11 months now. I still can't get in, even when I use a different name and credit card # (same address). I have tried using my sister's address and my parent's address (using either my name or my sister's name), but those fail as well (pretty surprising considering they live 1200 miles away from me). I did enroll me sister a few times in the past, so maybe they were able to connect her with me. But as for my parents, that is a mystery how they did that. But when I try all three of those addresses, I get the rejection letter (not a "lost" application). I just tried again a few weeks ago and got another rejection letter. So my only choice is to get a PO box. But I will have to also make up a name and get a new credit card #. If for some reason that still produces rejection letters, then they are a lot smarter than I think they are. I ended up on the list because I ordered the same things over and over again, BUT this was in their music club. It really blows because the music club was shut down RIGHT AFTER they kicked me out! So I really feel screwed. I just want some DVDs for myself and I can't get them! I should just give up.

^The way others have dealt with being blacklisted in the past is to call them up and discuss it with a supervisor. He or she has the power to lift the ban if you can provide a compelling reason.

I never had a problem with them in the past, but since I closed out an account after the B1G1 sale, I've had about 5 apps go lost, one was over the phone. Does that sound like i'm heading in that direction, or does this happen to others? I can't think of anything that would warrant being blacklisted, except getting a few of the same enrollments a few times.

^"Lost" applications are one thing, the blacklist quite another. If you get a letter saying that your accounts have been closed due to a "business decision", you have been blacklisted.

Lost applications can happen for a variety of reasons and most of us eventually manage to get new accounts with some experimentation.

The term "blacklist" tends to be thrown around for any difficulty in getting new accounts (which happens to everybody if they open enough accounts). What veterans here refer to as being blacklisted is quite different: Columbia House has decided, usually because they suspect you of selling DVDs or of defrauding them, that they no longer want your business.

If you're a first time applicant, how long should you give them before you assume your application was "lost"?
