Spiritual Cinema Circle- free trial - pay S&H

Use this link - http://www.SpiritualCinemaCircle.com/ The original in the e-mail I received was a referal.

Received the e-mail below. Didn't know if I should put this in DVD Bargains or the Clubs thread. What caught my interest is that a Co-Founder, Stephen Simon, is the producer of WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (a great film IMHO). I copy and pasted the e-mail I received to give credit to my source then edited to shorten it slightly and remove the referal. The e-mail offer:

HI BurningBits Subscribers,

I found out about a great DVD Movie service that I would like to share with you.
The Spiritual Cinema Circle is having a special offer this month and
there is no better time to give it a try… it is F-R-E-E this month!

Read this message from Stephen Simon about enlightening entertainment…

ARE YOU SPIRITUAL?
Then Maybe You'd Like to Help Me
Change the World One Movie at A Time…

For me, The Spiritual Cinema Circle is a life long dream come true!
I've always wanted to create a company that filled the world with
meaningful, inspirational, and triumphant films. These are hopeful
films that you can't find elsewhere and that you would be proud to
own—films that will warm your heart and stir your soul!

I'm Stephen Simon, Co-Founder of The Spiritual Cinema Circle and
author of the book Spiritual Cinema. I'm a spiritual film producer
(SOMEWHERE IN TIME, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, and most
recently director of CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD) who became
disenchanted with many of today's blockbuster hits.

It's becoming harder and harder to find classic spiritual films such
as IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, GHOST, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME,
THE PREACHER'S WIFE, FIELD OF DREAMS and WHALE RIDER.
If you've enjoyed these films, you'll love The Spiritual Cinema Circle!

We scour the earth (literally!), watch over 1,000 films each year, and
bring you the best of what we've found – entertainment that will provide
meaning to you and the people you love:

Here is what one of our members has to say:

"We joined the Spiritual Cinema Circle the year it began. Each month
we look forward to our next shipments! This past fall I called the cable
company and told them to disconnect us...we just weren't interested in
TV anymore. Now we just watch the Spiritual Cinema Movies (over and
over again) or rent movies (our favorites are the ones recommended by
Stephen Simon!)

I spend more time playing my keyboard and singing, Frank has taken up
painting. Often we are doing these things at the same time, enjoying the
creativity that is pouring out of us. We read more... I am writing poetry
again...We spend more time together...and after 28 years of marriage,
I think I can honestly say that we even love each other more. Thank you
for the changes you have brought to our lives!" - Rishell Graves, member

What do you get?

Feature films, documentaries, and art-house style short films are all
part of the mix and come complete with personal introductions and
questions for each of us to ponder.

Want to be inspired? Then you'll love movies like RYAN'S WELL!

Want to feel triumphant and empowered? Then marvel at FARTHER
THAN THE EYE CAN SEE!

Do you want to believe in Angels and second chances? You'll revel in
the film AN ANGEL FOR MAY.

As a special limited time offer, we'll give you…
4 meaningful, thought-provoking and inspirational movies…
ABSOLUTELY F-R-E-E!
(only pay shipping & handling)

I know that you'll love these selections and want us to provide you with more…

This is a limited time offer, so click through now to discover a whole
new world of spiritual entertainment.

I wish you and yours nothing but warmth, love and success.

Hugs,

Stephen

P.S. If you take advantage of this limited offer The Spiritual Cinema Circle will happily plant a tree in your name to offset the environmental impact of delivering your DVD. I look forward to having you as part of our community—changing the world, one movie at a time.

************************************************************

I am plesently suprised about this service, and I'm sure you will also.

This months shipment appears to be:

SUNDAY PAPER
As we grow older, our memories prove good company and our friendships the lasting legacy of our lifetimes. This short film beautifully illustrates the power of love and memory as an elderly inventor remembers an adventure from his early childhood. Written and Directed by Eric Towner . [12 minutes, in English]

THE COLOR WHITE
Being sightless, Fredi has a very specific routine that he and his mother follow every day. He is comforted by his opinions about colors and prefers white over all others. When his routine is shaken by his developing teenaged desires, THE COLOR WHITE serves as a reminder that the desire to co-create our own reality is simply human nature. Written and directed by Angela Pires and Liliana Sulzbach. [22 minutes, in Portuguese with English subtitles]

TOUCHING WILD HORSES (U.S. members only)
Jane Seymour stars in this transformational film (not recommended for children under 10) as Fiona Kelsey, a writer who lives alone on an island preserve for wild horses. Although she researches and writes about the horses, she is forbidden to ever touch one of the majestic creatures with which she shares her paradise. When her nephew shows up at her doorstep after a horrendous family tragedy, both of their lives are changed forever. A film about the epic adventure that takes place within the hearts of Fiona and her nephew, TOUCHING WILD HORSES is an ode to the healing power of nature that will stay with you for a long time to come. Written by Murray McRae. Directed by Eleanore Lindo . [95 minutes, in English]

THE JEW IN THE LOTUS (International members only)
Inspired by Rodger Kamenetz' book by the same title, this film follows the spiritual journey of one man from deep depression to self-discovery. When eight delegates from the Jewish faith travel to meet the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India to share their perspective on the survival of Jewish spirituality within a history of exile, Rodger goes along for the ride. What he discovers in India is not so much about Buddhism or Judaism as it is about what it is to be whole and human on this planet. Directed by Laurel Chiten . [60 minutes, in English]

MR. MERGLER'S GIFT
When an elderly piano teacher finds the student of his lifetime, the result is a timeless match. This is the remarkable story of Xin Ben, a 9-year old daughter of Chinese immigrants and her mentor, Mr. Mergler. Together they explore the transcendental beauty of music and experience its life-changing gifts. With characters this strong, and a story so classically beautiful, it’s hard to believe this film is a documentary. MR. MERGLER’S GIFT is one of this year’s Oscar offerings from Canada for best short documentary. Directed by Academy Award-winner Beverly Shaffer . [31 minutes, in English]

BONUS! BEHIND THE SEEN: CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD
In this month's installment of our Conversations with God "behind the scenes" video diary, we are in full swing with production, on set at 5 AM, in the rain and fog--and loving every minute of it! [6 minutes, in English]

Special Gift! CHASING THE LIGHT
A special bonus gift from The Spiritual Cinema Circle and Blacklight Productions
Experience the beauty and majesty of the natural world, as viewed through the camera lens of award-winning cinematographer Louis Schwartzberg. Enjoy these peaceful and inspiring meditative journeys through the Serengeti, Marrakesh, Tibet, New England, Washington's Glacier Fields and the skies above Hawaii. Directed by Louis Schwartzberg.[10 minutes, in English]

I'll stay in for next month's as well:

ROCKS AND CHOCOLATE
This short film is about a little girl and her father who prove that political struggle can suppress a country, but it cannot suppress the heart. Written and Directed by Teddy Sharkova . [12 minutes, in Bulgarian with English subtitles]

BIG GIRL
Nine-year-old Josephine expresses her anger about her parents’ divorce by hating her mother's new boyfriends... until she meets her match. Written and directed by Renuka Jeyapalan. [14 minutes, in Portuguese with English subtitles]

CHEEK TO CHEEK
When Beryl's husband dies, she wakes up wondering what she's been doing for her entire adult life. With her best friend, her dog Missy, she embarks upon an adventure into the spirit of life. Not recommended for pre-teens. Written & Directed by Beth Armstrong . [36 minutes, in English]

WILD PARROTS OF TELEGRAPH HILL (U.S. & Canada only)
This is the true story of Mark Bittner, a homeless street musician, and his remarkable relationship with a flock of wild parrots in San Francisco. Directed by Judy Irving . [83 minutes, in English]

A SIDEWALK ASTRONOMER (International only)
"Would you like to look at the moon?" asks the original sidewalk astronomer, John Dobson, whose irreverent wit makes this documentary about astronomy fascinating and beautiful. Directed by Jeffrey Jacobs . [78 minutes, in English]

BONUS! BEHIND THE SEEN: CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD
In this month's installment of our Conversations with God "behind the scenes" video diary, we visit the set for the biggest crowd scene of the film. People came from all over the world to participate in this day's shooting! [6 minutes, in English]
