question about ch.com vs. columbiahouse.com
I've never joined ch.com before, but am wondering if they carry box sets and tv sets in this club? There is not a lot of information available on the sign up page. Do they have a lot of tv sets at 40-60% off, and can you use these to fulfill your agreement?
Do they carry all the same titles as the regular club does, or just the ones you can see on the application page for ch.com ??

1) Simplicity, you buy what you want at the price they list (sale offers are rare or non-existent).
2) Free shipping on everything.
3) No "Director's Selections" to decline.
Disadvantages:
1) Much higher prices than one gets by doing a package deal in the regular DVD club. "Enroll, fulfill, cancel, repeat" in the regular DVD Club, or TV Edition Club, is much cheaper than buying from CH.com. Especially for sets.

ch.com is best for sets if you dont want to wait the time it takes to fulfill, cancel, repeat. Fun Cash is actually worth something there because of the free shipping and regular prices are already 40% off. You can average 50% off list on your sets. And some sets are listed more than 40% off. I would reccomend keeping a ch.com account.
Again, this is best if you dont want the hassle.

I just got a CH.com account this week. I'll use it to buy cheaper movies (for even less) that wouldn't otherwise count as fulfillments for the other clubs. FREE shipping is a nice bonus too.

^Most of those "cheaper movies" are available for enrollment and can be had from the regular club for $5.86, or less. Are you really getting them for less than that from CH.com?

In the case of buying sets, the difference depends on the price range of the set. But for a typical set list priced at $59.95 one might pay ~$36 for the set at CH.com but one would pay less than $20 for the same set in the regular club, even paying shipping. It would be even less with a free shipping or BOGOF deal.
The difference tends to be small for sets list priced at 49.95 or less using typical deals (because they only count for one fulfillment credit in the regular club). But even with these, waiting for a the proper combination of sale offers can make buying such sets in the regular club a better deal (BOGOF is an example of such an offer.)
I believe you are incorrect about funcash. Its use is limited on sets even in the CH.com club and one pays full regular price on other DVDs when buying them with funcash. Example: Batman Begins Deluxe can be purchased from CH.com for $23 in funcash, free shipping. The same title could be purchased from the regular club (as a fulfillment) for $5.86 (or less). In this case, each funcash dollar is worth 26¢. While the yield from funcash is greater when buying $14.95 titles, this is still no great shakes. And I haven't seen any triple funcash deals that work at CH.com, unlike the regular club.
I have had a CH.com account for more than six months. I have yet to see a worthwhile deal on a DVD that I want.
