Deluxe _Batman Begins_ & _Charlie and the Chocolate Factory_ as future enrollments?
I know CH has not been offering some of the souped-up editions of titles of late. I haven't followed the pattern closely though.
Does anyone have an developed theory as to whether they'll offer the souped up versions of BB and CCF for enrollment, or just the 1-disc versions?
TIA, Dave

Only time will tell if they'll offer the deluxe versions of these two films. However, they do offer the deluxe version of Constantine as an enrollment. Constantine is also a Warner title, so I think that it's a safe bet that the deluxe versions of Batman Begins and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory will also be available as enrollments. Batman Begins was released on October 18, so we should know if it's available come Monday.

This does not bode well for BB and C&TCF. I think that BMG must be in complete control now. This would explain why there seems to be so many problems going on right now. It would also explain why they aren't charging sales tax anymore(the BMG Music Club stopped charging sales tax a couple of years ago).

Of course it is too bad if indeed these 2 won't be enrollments, but it's not too big of a deal for me. I'm not saying that because I already own these. Even if I didn't I could still get them cheap as a fulfillment (w. or w.o. a b1g1 sale) or with funcash. Regardless I still think CH overall offer an unprecedented deal on DVDs.

I just ordered the Constantine Deluxe as an enrollment last week. I've yet to receive my packaga and I'm hoping that I got in before the change.

I did not receive the Constantine Deluxe that was supposed to be shipped with my enrollments. They instead sent me a rain check certificate. I am going to call them on Monday or Tuesday and ask them to honor their agreement. I cant help that they changed their enrollments after they received and accepted my application. I would rather have this set than a rain check (unless I can use the rain check on a more expensive set).

Hope it works out for you.

Every state I lived in and was a member of CH (PA, IL, FL), I was always charged tax; however, never the right amount. Most currently I was charged 6.01% when FL sales tax is 7%. BMG charges 7% here though. Go figure...
Those who charge tax always claim they only charge if they have a business presence. Like Apple charges tax here; so do Dell (who do not have a store I suppose) but most other online retailers don't.

^Yes, saw that. And I will settle for the single disc since I just want to watch the movie again and fulfillments are too valuable for purchasing sets to "spend" one on the Deluxe.
I have to give the new management of Columbia House credit. The changes they have made, while disappointing to us, make a lot of sense and should have been done years ago: Entice people into the club with 49¢ cheap single disc DVDs and try to get them to buy the two disc special editions of hot titles at higher prices.
Oh well. If one really wants a Special Edition now, one will have to purchase it as a fulfillment... or wait for a year or two...
With Blue-ray and HD coming I am backing off purchasing regular DVDs anyway. (Or at least that's what I am telling myself!

I figured this would happen so I picked up all of the deluxe/limited editions (Constantine, Batman, Charlie, War of the Worlds, Lord of War) as fulfillments. You can also get them as your free selection when buying a box set or more expensive item and using a B1G1F code.

Damn, changes are still being made!
I guess I should have expected a few changes because of the new year. Oh well, we will have to start planning for these early and get them as pre-orders when fulfilling, that would be the cheapest option now I believe.

Thanks for the replies. I figured this was likely, and picked up these two titles over the weekend during B1G1F. I hope most of you who wanted these were able to do likewise.

They wouldn't budge on sending me the Constantine Deluxe that I applied for (and was accepted during the application process). They did, however, add an extra free selection to my account for the inconvenience. I figure that this takes care of the difference between what I would have had and will have. Maybe I'll order the Constantine Deluxe later on during another B1G1F offer (or maybe they can keep it).

Thanks for sharing that story, dsa_shea. That strikes me as professional (because they picked a consistant policy on no deluxe versions and stuck with it), and fair (because they realized you were not treated properly when the policy took effect after you submitted your application.)
Now we'll just need more B1G1F opportunities to compensate.
