Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark reforming

http://www.omd.uk.com/html/news.html

As previously reported, 2006 could well be the OMD Renaissance year with the reformation of the band now officially announced. To recap, Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys, Mal Holmes and Martin Cooper will be returning as OMD with concerts and a new album on the way. Joining them for live shows will be Stuart Kershaw. Here's what's on the schedule:

OMD perform Architecture & Morality live
A brand new OMD album
Extensive European tour
Remastered Dazzle Ships album
OMD DVD
Unreleased material album

______________

These guys were always my favorite synth-pop outfit. I don't hold high hopes for new material, but I'd love to see them perform Architecture & Morality live. What a GREAT recording that was and still is. I saw them live in 1985 and will go again if they swing through Atlanta.

oh I hope some stateside gigs will happen sometime in the future. The last time I saw them was when they were the opener band for Depeche Mode.

Hooray! The last of the big 80's synth-pop bands that I have yet to see live.

I. Am. So. There. - bawling like an infant through "If You Leave."

Reading around online, it looks like they'll possibly come to the States late in the year.

Anything that gets grunter balling is good for me.

I always liked the band and have a few of their albums but I always meant to get into them more than I did. The first song I heard of theirs (and loved at first listen) was "Tesla Girls".

For the love of god, somebody post here if they come to Chicago.

The one and only time I saw "them", it was just Andy McCluskey lip-syncing to music (circa 1990's).
