Joss Whedon: On the Future of Television

The TVGuide website has has an editorial written by Joss Whedon on the future of television:

http://www.tvguide.com/News/Insider/...}&cmsSrch=true

Many people have asked me, "Joss, what is the future of television? What will we watch? And how will we watch it? Surely you must know, for you are wise, and slender." I usually smile and say nothing, because I wasn't actually listening to the question. But it's a good one, and I think it's time I let you in on a few highlights of Television-to-Be.
Funny stuff.

But don't listen to the talk about having shows beamed directly into your brain. That's science-fiction nonsense. Shows will be stored in the pancreas and will enter the brain through the bloodstream after being downloaded into your iHole.

Too funny. That man kills me.

In a stunningly cost-effective move, CBS will air How I Met Your Biological Mother, That Bitch, which is just old episodes of How I Met Your Mother with snarkier narration.
I'd really like to see this.

That's all I can tell you, except for one last thing: Veronica Mars will still be on. Veronica Mars will still be on. We clear about that?

I'd already seen that, but I did read something very interesting about Whedon today. Marvel got all their writers and editors together this week to plan the major events in their comics over the next couple years. The head of Marvel just gave an interview about it and I thought the most interesting part was this little tidbit about Marvel's upcoming big crossover, Civil War.

"We had about four different endings for Civil War and it got pretty vocal yesterday as each idea was being debated. We spent four hours going back and forth, then the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine came though.

Literally as if out of a movie script, Joss Whedon appeared. Within 30 seconds Joss identified the elephant in the room and we had our ending. We managed to put together a bunch of the best solutions and it’s something truly sensational."

I loved reading this.. great stuff.

His sarcasm was confusing - he either really loves the CSIs or really hates them...I have no idea which.
