Looks like Fighting Spirit is going to be the B-side for Sorry. How fucked up is that to make people buy the Limited Edition and then have it be a part of the $3 single.

Ya know, despite being a metal head at heart, I love this CD too. I might actually get my membership reinstated with this one!

I'm Going To Tell You A Secret is still slated for March.

Sorry is being released next month as a single.

No word on the Re-invention tour. *sigh*

Yep. Tentative. But who knows if the DVD single will be out on the same day.

I think the DVD single was for the UK, not so sure if the US will get it too.
I have a feeling Secret is going to put the Re-invention DVD into permanent limbo like Truth or Dare with Blond Ambition (though that did get a Lazerdisc). Truth or Dare is now OOP so I'm wondering if that means a TOD SE or a BA DVD. Madonna and her people are well aware that a BA DVD is #1 on her fans want list, I have no idea why she and Warner are so terrible about this stuff. Queen of music video and concert tours yet it's slim pickings in the DVD section!

If it's happening in the UK, there's no reason to think it won't happen here.

Where did you hear TOD is OOP?

TOD and Secret are owned by two different companies. Unless they got together and decided to tie the two releases in to each other, I doubt it.

-I think DVD singles are a little bit more common in the UK than here, which is why I'm not sure we'd nessesarily get it too.

-Truth Or Dare is listed as OOP where I work, and I checked Amazon and they don't have it either (except used). I wasn't thinking that it had anything to do with the Secret DVD, but that maybe it's going OOP to make way for another TOD/Blond Ambition DVD item...?

As far as I know, the rights for TOD are owned by Artisan/Live (whoever owns those now). BA is held by Warner. They have nothing to do with one another. Madonna has no rights to TOD at this point. She was recently interviewed and talked about how she had to pay some outrageous figure just to use the footage from TOD. You're grasping at straws.

I finally got around to listening to this. Really didn't like American Life at all but I was really surprised by this. Its pretty good and return to form for Madonna. The production is awesome on it and is probably my favorite part about it. It was like listening to that Daft Punk white label 12" remix expanded to a whole booming album.

Yes, I know, it's still possible it's OOP to make way for a special edition, sheesh. And for all we know they still have the whole concert filmed by Alek K. to do with whatever they want, like when they added two performances to the VHS. The entire concert as filmed for TOD would be phenominal. Honestly the backstage B&W stuff bores me to tears now. Also, I read her say that about the TOD footage too but don't remember there being any in her movie, did I miss it?

Alek did film the entire concert for TOD but that won't be what we finally see. It will most likely be the France concert. The Japan and Barcelona shows (though filmed and broadcast) will probably never be officially released.

Related but totally not:

WoW.

I just downloaded a VERY different version of the American Life video. Never aired on TV before. Someone must have stolen a copy of it or something because I have NO idea where this might have come from. If America wasn't ready for the one that was broadcast around the world, they REALLY wouldn't have been ready for this version. Extremely disturbing. Extremely violent. She would have been slaughtered if it were released. Would make a very interesting "extra" on IGTTYAS.

If you don't mind, could you point me in the right direction of this download? Thanks.

Is that the military fashion show version? If so, that's the international version that was pulled at the last minute from MTV and replaced with the "Flags of the World" version.

Yes it's that but VERY different. Again, it's unreleased. Completely.

It's actually quite good. It makes the song sound more "general dance" than the vibe she has on the original, also it's around 6-7 minutes. You can hear Niel Tennant's vocals around as well. I thought it was going to be a radio remix from all the fuss people had over it but the outcome is still good. I didn't have my hopes up even if it is the Pet Shop Boys.

Oh, and the American Life video? Wow, I was always under the impression that the "uncensored" version was the one where she throws a grenade to a Bush-lookalike but the version I was able to download (thanks digitalfreak) is completely different. Such a chicken-shit move on her part not to air it.

Yes it will be on the Maxi along with another remix by Stuart Price and the Let It Will Be remix that was heard during the promotional shows.

In addition, i'll add that I HATE the PSB. I can't stand the vocals that they added to it and the people that have heard it have said "yeah...it's very PSB." The remix part itself is ok...nothing great at all. Still MUCH prefer the original.

And re: American Life, i honestly don't think it was chicken shit at all. I couldn't see her releasing that several years ago. She seriously would have been slaughtered and would have had MUCH more of a reason to fear for her and her childrens lives. Don't get me wrong, I love that version of the video. It makes much more sense than even the one broadcast overseas. However, people were so fucked up when the war started that they wouldn't have been able to "get" her message. Now...might be a different story which is why it might be an interesting "extra" on the Secret DVD. She did say at the time that the world would eventually see her uncensored version.
