Joining Online but NOT Receiving any "Welcome to" notice
Well, this is interesting. I've been joining CH online without using a credit card number for a couple of years now. In November, I submitted my online order, received a "we're reviewing your recent application" email, but never received the followup "membership number" email. After emailing CH, they informed me that they had no record of my submitted application.
Okay, I tried it again seven days ago--using "LMT" and one of my preferred numbers. I printed out the confirmation screen and received the initial email from CH informing me that my application was under review, but nothing since then. What gives? My application IS going thru, and I am a former member in good standing.
I'll wait till next week and report back what I discover.

Wait two more weeks, and if you don't receive any dvds or email, Sign up online with a credit card or call your order in. Signing up online without a credit card seems to "lose" applications.
I recommend calling it in.

I had this problem all the time as well, so I started phoning in and most always had success.
But lately I started using 1KJ online, which requires a CC# and no PSN, and have had three or four in a row go through. It's also a better deal than LMT.

Despite the problems, I've still stuck to the website and most of the time it has worked out. I tried one mid-November and I received the email that I was getting the honor of "being considered" but never received a confirmation. In the meantime, I received an email from one of my older accounts with the "we want you back" offer that was as good as my original web order (free shipping, 2 fulfillments). I decided to click through that last week. Guess what? I got the confirmation and my enrollment DVDs arrived yesterday. Of course, I'll probably get my original enrollments from November tomorrow - but that's a chance you take with CH I guess!

Success! I received my confirmation email---9 days after signing-up. That's twice as long as has been my prior experience, but I'll chalk it up to the Holidays and being understaffed. At least this time my application got thru.

I also had a snafu with online app and no credit card. I orignally signed up on the Dec. 1st and received an email confirmation the same day. After several weeks I still had not received a welcome email or the dvds. So I contacted them about this and got;
"Thank you for your e-mail message.
We are unable to locate a new membership for you, at
this time. Therefore, we must assume a transmission
error occurred when processing your application.
If you still wish to join, it will be necessary to
submit a new application for processing. We regret
any inconvenience.
To enroll using our online service, please click the
appropriate link found on our Columbia House home page."
So, with that I did a phone app. One week later I received my phone app, and this morning received a welcome email from the online app that they "lost". If they were for different dvds that is one thing, but they were all the some ones - I guess one package will be sent back (per customer service's request). Last time I try one online - phone worked so much easier and quicker.
