Best band your not listening to

I have liked every Nickleback song I have ever heard on the radio, yet I do not own one of their Cd's. I guess I should go pick one up....

"Best band your not listening to"

This makes no sense on so many levels!

hmm, you're right.

How about " Bands you don't listen to but probably should?"
Got anything better?

If I'm not listening to a band, it's probably because I don't like them, so the word "best" wouldn't apply, as nodeer stated.

As for bands I should listen to? Also nonsense. Nobody is going to tell me who I "should be" listening to. I like what I like, and if I choose to like it, well, there you go.

I think the OP meant to recommend lesser known bands to people who like similar music. The reason you're not listening to a band may not be that you don't like them, maybe its because you don't know who they are. Which is why I was surprised by the OP posting about Nickelback becasue everyone knows (and pretty much dislikes) them.

Anyway, I'll post my answer to this a little later.

I haven't listened to them all day, as a matter of fact.

From the original post, I thought he meant bands that you might hear and enjoy occasionally but do not purchase their actual albums to listen to on a regular basis?

I guess something that fits into the category for me is..

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nirvana
Audioslave

I listen to these 3 bands and enjoy them, but don't own any of their cd's.

But with Nickleback if you want to hear them just turn on the radio and within 45 seconds of going thru the stations you will find one of their songs.

I have never listened to a full Beatles album, actually. I have only heard stuff from the radio and whenever it comes up in movies. Never really want to that much, either. Trying to catch up in current music is too much of a bitch sometimes. There is 3 albums on Tiny Mix Tapes' best cover art of the year that I haven't listened to yet (http://www.tinymixtapes.com/year2005...bum_covers.htm) and even though I have heard mixed things about those 3 albums, I want to listen to them to see if they fit the album art.

Off topic: Isn't that Islaja album art amazing?

I think I've heard some of their stuff.
Maybe I should check them out.

What's their latest CD? Are they touring?

Well I was referring more to the "your" in your subject. "Your" refers to possession. "You're" is a contraction that is short for "You are". It would've been more clear if you said "you're".

To answer your question, it would probably be the Beatles.

Led Zeppelin. Never listened to a full album and only know the big hits from the radio.

I would say AC/DC. I have always liked a lot of their songs but I have never purchased any of their albums. I keep hoping for a greatest hits set.

I'd have to say Franz Ferdinand or The Rapture. I've only heard like two Franz Ferdinand songs (Take Me Out, This Fire, and maybe one other) but I've liked them. As for The Rapture, I like the Cure and I've heard that they are heavily influenced by The Cure but I've yet to check them out.
Edit-Just checked out some songs by the Rapture on iTunes. Not at all what I was expecting. I can barely hear the Cure influence too (maybe stuff from the Cure's first album or two). I really didn't expect it to sound do much like disco. Not really my thing.
