few questions re: columbia house

So i have used columbia house for 3-4 years now, but only as a normal user. when i lived in IL i had an account and i always felt the initial enrollment was the best part. When i moved i canceled that account. Later i created a new one and again was pleased with the enrollment.

Now i have been on the same account for a year or more, i thought about canceling it and starting over.

I read the FAQ and it said we are allowed 2 accounts running on the same CC and the same address. After hearing that i read the code section and used a code that got me a total of 8 DVD for $22 and change.

Im wondering, how many times can i cancel and resub. I plan on canceling my old account, which will be me down to 1, the one i just made.

I read that just because you sign up doesnt mean it will go through. Do they check everyones history and make sure they are not trying to exploit the service?

I have been thru about 100 accounts in the last 4 years. There's a never ending "glitch" on their website. Applications occasionally get lost. If you want to get approved almost ALL THE TIME, apply over the phone. In my experience, its about a 60% chance of getting approved online. .. and yes, that means they lost about 40 of mine online.

I recomend everyone use a credit card code at signup so that it will help u determine if youve been approved or not. If your CC gets charged for your enrollment selections, youre in.

You are forgetting your 2 DVD commitment at regular price.

Probably one of these: 1LM, LMT, LMY, 38Y, IKJ; but it will reduce your cost average if you DON'T take the 8th selection for $9.95, so it would only be $12.89+tax(if applicable) for 7 dvds with the same only 2 more to buy.

Now that you are a member, you can use one of these on your next membership.

Check out the "Better Code Thread" (stickied),and read the first post for the best enrollment codes.

I used C7L, and i got 6 for $.49, 2 for $9.95, and i only need to purchase 1 more at normal price.

Total came to $22.84 with free shipping.

If i get a confirmation email then i know im good to go right?

Im going to cancel my old sub tomarrow, and hope this goes through. If it does i may start a second.

Also i was not asked for a old membership # when i used C7L

So you are not including your commitments in this. And by the way, I think you need to purchase 2 more not 1 more at $19.95 or more. The 8th one at $9.95 does not count toward the 3 you need to purchase.

You're right. I've seen the wording on the details. They tell you after the 1st $9.95 selection, it lowers your commitment to 2 DVDs over the next 2 years. With the 2nd $9.95 selection, they do not mention your commitment is reduced any further.
