Best Buy?

Bestbuy when they have them on sale is where I normally get mine. If you don't mind waiting for shipping...ebay, or half.com, or even the amazon marketplace is a good place to buy them but they are normally pretty close to BB's price shipped unless they are used, then they are cheaper.

I might have to make a trip out to Best Buy, but it's hard to. I was looking online. I have bunch o paypal bucks so half.com might be a good idea. Anywhere else to try?

Yourmusic.com might be a way to go. Limited selection, but 5.99 a disk, no tax, free shipping. Join for one month, order add'l stuff via 'cart', then cancel.

Any place but the mall. Circuit City and Best Buy are the only places I buy mine. Best Buy has a better selection, but both usually have good pricing.

check out amazon marketplace, it's hella good prices or ebay. I just saved at least 20 bucks buying 5 cd's on amazon vs the mall or bestbuy/target/walmart

Best Buy is good for mainstream new releases - but generally their back stock is severely lacking and ridiculously overpriced. Unless you're looking for greatest hits discs, Best Buy is usually not the way to go.

Circuit City - as they continue their long and winding sprial towards bankruptcy - is very hit-or-miss. Generally, if you're really into rap, they're your source. But as for back catalogue R-n-R, you usually have a choice between one artist's newest selection and one of its older "nice price" discount discs. There's very little in between.

Coconuts, FYE and their "mall" ilk must be destroyed. CD's DO NOT COST $18.99 and up. I'm sorry, but they don't. Anyone buying from any of these mall chain stores seriously needs to have their head examined.

Newbury is definitely my favorite online retailer. I haven't used Amazon since I discovered them.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're into mainstream stuff, yeah, I guess Best Buy.

There's no independent music stores around you that sell stuff for great prices? There's one here that sometimes beats BB's sale prices for normal stuff!

Stay away from Tower, unless it's the release week and a popular item (i.e. the new Rolling Stones). Their "sale" prices for new CDs can be $14.99!!!

I couldn't agree more. If Tower would just drop their prices, it would be the best chain store on the planet. No one can touch the depth and breadth of their back catalog. It is truly awe-inspiring - with only maybe HMV and Virgin coming close. It's just, I only actually buy at Tower when I literally can't find the CD anywhere else. As Newbury used to say in their Boston area ads: I couldn't bring myself to pay "towering" prices.

I've spent a little time, but not done yet, but this www.newburycomics.com site looks cheaper then most and they have a decent amount of titles. I'm looking for main pop stuff for my daughter and a couple greatest type compilation cds. Me personally need to find a good rock cd. I haven't checked the shipping yet. I was wondering if the cheap prices would be killed by huge shipping.

After research Newbury and Deepdiscount looks the best, but I'm going to Best Buy today to compare. The shipping on Newbury will probably make Best Buy look better, but we'll see. I have a couple of sites to bookmark though. Thanks everyone.

What are these "cee-dees" you speak of?

If you are talking to me I looked up several for daughter including Raven, Hilary Duff, Compilations, looked up a couple NOW and WOW, and I'm a bit heavier in my taste went for a little Nickleback (sp). Stuff like that. I went to Best Buy today and they were all very close in price and found a few I couldn't find on the websites, but in the future I see buying from these sites. It was all good information. I hope will help others. thanks

Trust me, you will be wasting your time. Best Buy no longer competes with DeepDiscount in their (CD or DVD) pricing. At one one time they did, but that was long ago.

Didn't waste my time. I got several cds all within a dollar. Don't remember if deepdiscount had shipping, but if so it would be cheaper. Also, Best Buy had a better selection on a couple of discs I wanted deep didn't have.

Also check out www.half.com . Many people sell new cds there or like new used stuff for great prices (though you have to allow for shipping). Also a lot of still sealed promos pop up. Just ask questions of the seller if you feel leery. I have bought many cds from there and never had a problem.
