Biggest Selling Artist Per Decade

The 50's.............Elvis
The 60's.............The Beatles
The 70's.............Elton John
The 80's.............Michael Jackson
The 90's.............Mariah Carey
The 00's.............Eminem

The stumper probably was the 70's, cause its so associated with the disco era, but that really caught on in the late 70's and Sir Elton sold consistently through the decade

I was thinking 3 didn't belong. Much like movies, the best selling is never the best. Although, I very much love Elton John and the Beatles.

Hate all you want but MJ was without a doubt the biggest artist of the decade. Long before freakdom set in. The only one that would come close would be Madonna and even then I think it would be a distant second.

Hindsight is 20/20 especially b/c of the way he presents himself now, but the man was made of gold in the 80's.

Wow.

People's taste in music really did go downhill in 1980.
