Charlotte Martin... any love?
Ive been browsing these forums for quite a while and have never seen a thread for one of my favorite female singer-songwriters... RCA Recording artist Charlotte Martin. As far as commercial success, she hasn't had much (besides a lame pop song from Sweet Home Alabama- dont even bother lol; as well as having her "single" play in a few Lifetime movie previews). But Charlotte is NO DOUBT one of the best out there.
She's been compared to Tori Amos, although I'm not a huge fan of her and dont see too many similarities. Her fall tour is coming up and everyone should go. She's playing a bunch of cities. dates are on her website.
She has a few releases definitley worth checking out (my favorites are in parenthesis next to the album title):
Test Drive Songs (Last Day On Earth, Many Rivers)
On Your Shore (2004 RCA Album) (every track is breathtaking)
Darkest Hour EP (2005 Tour-Exclusive Album) (Darkest Hour, The Flood)
Veins (2005 Fall Tour Exclusive) (Four Walls, Veins)
Go give her a listen:
Charlottemartin.com
myspace.com/charlottemartin
her catalog is also available on iTunes (minus the new EP's)
id like to hear some thoughts...
