Emma Bunton : "Free Me"

OK, this is not a mindless post. I got this CD and its AMAZING. The best CD by a solo Spice yet. I wanted to know what you thought about it. Isn't it very Sergio Mendes and Burt Bacharach? The whole CD sounds so 60s! Loves it.

Your post is mindless for the following reasons:

1. Considering the music you dote on in your threads, I sincerely doubt you would know Sergio Mendes' and Burt Bacharach's music if you heard it.
2. Your reference to the previously-mentioned Sergio and Burt, thanks to a search, seems to have been lifted from a review of Emma's album on Amazon from back in February.
3. I haven't heard Emma's album, but I can almost 100% guarantee it doesn't sound anything like music from the 60's, which I also doubt you're too familiar with.

I've had it for ages, and it always comes up on my ipod on shuffle, I like it but Mel C's a northern star or norther soul is way better.

Very telling when you have to start your new threads with the above quote.

Isn't there a Disney Kids forum you can hang out on Cottington?

Don't hate the messenger. I am just informing people out there that there is good music if you want to look for it. I have had it with this U2/Coldplay sort of nonsense and people thinking thats the only good music around these days. Emma is a true performer. As for not knowing Bacharach, one of my favorite songs is 'A house is not a home' by Dionne so there.

If youve heard any of the Spice albums (Mel Cs' Northern Star being the best of the rest), you'll agree that Emma has the best voice and best music choices and the music on this album is REAL stuff you would wanna listen to - not mindless pop pap.

Vanessa Carlton : "Harmonium"

A masterpiece from start to finish. Has anyone heard this album. One of my favorite songs is 'White Houses'. Its so much better than what she started off doing i.e 'A Thousand Miles'. Plus the incredible song 'San Fransisco' makes it only better. Anyone here a Carlton fan? Isn't she like so much better than Michelle Branch? I love Carltons' thin yet effective voice. She lacks much melody but the production makes up for it. All in all a splendid job.

Thanks for the tip. Thin vocals, lacks melody but it's a masterpiece because of the production. And she's like so much better than Michelle Branch. I'm rushing right out.

How long you gonna Troll this board Cottington?

Wasn't this guy here before? Under a different name, about two, three years ago proclaiming bland pop as 'masterpieces?'

Anyway, I get a kick out of Mr. Cottington's posts. I wish I could reside in that black & white 'Leave it to Beaver' dimension where the world was all apple pie and mommy kisses as Mr. Cottington does.

Jessica Simpson plans Comeback based on Sex

September 14, 2005

Jessica Simpson wants 'slutty and hot' video
By Editor

Jessica Simpson plans 'slutty' video

Sexy Pop Star Jessica Simpson is getting ready to revamp her image and take control of her sound on her upcoming album reports Perez Hilton. In an effort to kill her good girl image, Jessica is working on an album of sexy songs -- think Britney Spears 'Slave 4 u.' Jessica Simpson is in the studio with hip-hop superproducer Scott Storch Storch collaborating on a song called Fired Up, which is going to be the kickoff single off her new album.
"Jessica just had a storyboard session last week for the video, and she said that she wanted it to be 'slutty and hot,

"Jessica vented that she didn't want to always be this virginal wife," says a source. "She wants to be on the top of the sexiest polls, wanted by all the men's magazines, lusted by guys the world over."

Fired Up is a very UN-Jessica song. It's all about the boys in the club hollering at her, and the girls singing for her. She kinda screams in the song (a bit like Gwen does in Hollaback Girl).

Barbra Streisand : "Guilty Pleasures"

Does anyone else think this albums' cover is just plain hideous. Granted they wanted nostalgia, but she looks really bad on it, and Gibb looks even worse. They look older than they are. She should sue the photographer!

That said, I am loving most of the songs on it, but it still lacks the sensitivity of 'A Love like Ours' - the album she made for her husband. I loved the liner notes for that CD.

Any Streisand fans here?

Why do this? Seriously, are Britney and Christina's careers in better places now than they were four years ago? Britney was become white trash. Christina has become a punchline and she was far hotter IMO during the first album than she is trying to be "sexy". Sexy along the lines of Daisy Duke/"These Boots" video is one thing, but the go the slut route is a mistake IMO.

Ricky Martin : "Life" // New Album, New Look

Finally, the Puerto Rican genius is back. I have waited too long for this. AFter 'Vuelve' things kept going downhill but I am glad he decided to take a leaf out of Iglesias' book and make an acoustic rock/pop sort of comeback. I cannot WAIT for this CD. Can you?
