StarGate SG-1 Question

Can anyone please tell me where Jack went AKA Richard Dean Anderson from the new season of Stargate. Any info would be great. Also will he be back for future seasons

The character has retired. From what I've heard, Anderson will be around for some cameos or guest shots, but he's no longer a main character.

I thought he was promoted, like to whatever position Hammond was promoted to last year (and that Hammond therefore got another promotion)?

You're probably right. Perhaps I should've said "the character has been retired", meaning he isn't a part of the cast anymore.

Supposedly O'Neill will be promoted to head of Homeworld Security, succeeding Hammond. Why? Don Davis is off the show for "health reasons" and Anderson feels he's done enough, but doesn't mind coming in a few times over the season.

I hope he's at least in a few episodes a season, and more than 1 scene. I think I will like the new casting and direction to add some life to the show but it doesn't feel right having one of the main characters gone. Already missed Hammond and the doctor. I really liked Corin Nemec's character too, I wish they'd kept him on when Shanks came back or brought him back this season.

Thus the "cameos or guest shots" comment above.

From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.
somehow I don't see a 1 star getting a second star in only a year, even if it was someone who had done a lot to help earth

If you are going to wonder how something works with the show..How about...why do aliens, even in another galaxy..speak perfect English? And why does some chick from another planet have a British accent.. Even the Asgard have American accents when speaking English.
