This is the only season I haven't seen yet. I'm really looking forward to it.
I sure got my DVD Recorder at the right time. I'm recording every episode of every season

And I'll still buy them when they get an official release.

I'm so glad I finally got a dvd recorder with a hard drive. My old one was a pain in the ass to get commercials out of - I had to do it on the Tivo while watching real-time. I'm such a nerd that I made a custom TAR disc graphic for my printable dvds
. I'm not sure if I'll get the official release or not yet. If it has a boat-load of extras I most likely will. If not I may pass.

How is everybody getting commercials out of these recordings? My new TiVo DVD-RW burns directly to DVD without any available editing, so it's the full show. I have yet to find a good program to use on the computer to do so: either they don't cut at the spots you tell them to or the end result has audio-synch problems.

Chew, I have a DirecTiVo with a Panasonic DVD recorder. I edit the commercials out on the fly (a hard drive would be nice, but I'm watching anyway so it's not a big deal). I'm not too familiar with how the combo TiVo/DVD recorders function. Sucks that you can't edit out the commercials, as far as I'm concerned that defeats the purpose of TiVo.

I have a Pioneer 531 DVD-R with a 80GB HD. I record the show initially on a DirecTivo and then send it to the Pio HD. From there I have pretty damn good editing options, including a frame-by-frame option. I ususally do the regular editing though (1/2 sec) so I can burn at high speed instead of realtime.
The other great thing I like about the Pio is there are 30 or so different recording levels, all the way up to 10 hours a DVD, including custom levels. If there's 3 episodes for a dvd, I select level 19, which will allow 2h20m on a DVD.
The bad side of this unit appears to be the TV Guide epg built into it, but I have that disabled and only record from the inputs, not a rf feed from cable or antenna. This makes the epg problem not a problem for me. Really good deal for $337 in my opinion.
Not being able to edit commercials out of the Tivo combo just plain sucks

And if you want a trippy experience, try watching a show through two TiVo buffers. Yikes. You're 30-45 seconds into the show by the time your brain registers it, hits play, and it passes it to the source TiVo. That lasted all of a couple shows and I just went to the source input to avoid the headache.

*I already have two satellite cords coming into the living room, I don't want a third and another receiver just for the second TiVo.

Signed up for an extra digital pack from the cable company yesterday to get GSN so that we can watch the next few seasons of TAR. I've seen them, but the rest of my family didn't start watching TAR until about season 5. Seasons 2&3 are 2 of the very best seasons. Thanks for the heads up on when season 2 starts.

Re. recording the shows: I have my directv receiver connected to a computer through an ATI All-In-Wonder video card. I record tv shows with ATI's multimedia center software, and edit them very quickly using a program called Womble MPEG Video Wizard - the best program I've found for editing commercials, etc.

Oh and I also can't fathom why one of the teams that was consistently in the last groups did not go for the FF. It was clearly available because I saw the green cards in the envelopes a couple times.

Rather expensive though.

I'm no religious scholar, but I'm pretty sure Jesus doesn't really care who wins the Amazing Race.
I really like the one guy who looks like Andy Dick because ... well, just because he looks like Andy Dick. What more do you need?

How is it each season can have people totally fucking annoying? Those two texans looked pretty cool till it shows that dick letting the grandmas sleep in. I mean come on, does he really think theyre compitition? *****
