Polar Express to be released in IMAX every X-Mas?

I heard this as a rumor. I saw Polar Express in IMAX with my wife last year in 3D. It was incredible. I heard a rumor that they plan to re-release it every year in IMAX during Christmas time. Can anyone confirm this? I really hope so because I think it would become a yearly tradition for me. If it's true, and they do re-release it, I suggest you ALL go see it in IMAX 3D. It was unreal.

the last thing I heard was that yes - Warner's would be rereleasing this in November (2005) - I just hope they and the Smithsonian can work out a distrubution/theatrical deal so that at least one (of the three IMAX screens here in the DC area) can present this. I would love to see this in 3D! If not, guess I'd have to trek up to Harrisburg or King of Prussia to see this.

This was an amazing 3D experience, and IMO, the only way to really enjoy this movie. Had I seen it sans the IMAX 3D aspect, I wouldn't have been that impressed. Making this movie an IMAX event every year is this movie's best shot at becoming a Christmas classic.

The limited engagement I can understand, as a lot of IMAX theaters will have to make room for the new Harry Potter.

I really enjoyed this movie last year in 2D and after seeing how great Chicken Little looked in 3D this one is a must. I will definitely go see it in 3D at the imax this year.

It's just all around a great Christmas story. It's got humor too. The 3D is really what makes it worth it. If you enjoy a good old Christmas story, go see it.

I saw this last year at the IMAX in NYC. I went to NYC to catch the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular, and the next morning went to see this in the IMAX. It was an absolutely terrific Christmas experience. I had already seen the movie in the theater before, but not as an IMAX presentation. But seeing it in an IMAX... was just amazing. Don't know how I would ever go back! But, I'm sure I'll be happy to see this movie on my new HDTV, as I'm sure they'll ensure the quality to be perfect.

Seeing this movie in IMAX 3D might be the only reason to see this movie, period. I just watched it on DVD and I thought it was terrible. I was bored the whole time. No real story, it seems to rely solely on its eye candy that would probably look REALLY cool in IMAX.

Unless all the hype had my expectations WAY too high.

well that teaches me to call down to the National History Museum before treking there - my friend and I (and a few others as well) were livid to find out that the 5 and 7pm showings were cancelled. I thought the casual non-chalent attitude from the IMAX lady was unprofessional and made her sound stupid. 4:40 - no one, 4:45 still no one, 4:59, she appears - 'tonight's shows are cancelled' - okaaaaaay. You know, they could have posted some announcement somewhere in the lobby to this - complete idiots. The Smithsonian really scored low tonight on this fiasco.

wow... wow! in-friggin-credible! The 3D effects were simply amazing. Better IMO the one's utilized for 'Chicken Little 3D'. The falling snowflakes, the Hot Chocolate musical number, the moment when the train's front end feels like it's about to impale your forehead. This was fun and visually stunning.
