The end has come: my 20 year search for a movie is over!

As referenced in this thread: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=376459, I've been searching for it since I saw it more than 20 years ago. Well, last night I found it.

And there was great rejoicing in the land. Beers are on me!!!

Explosions, crumbling buildings, hot chicks, shooting, creatures popping out of a swamp, John Saxon, AND the secondary dude from Battlestar Galactica. Kickass.

Dunno. I just ordered the laserdisc from Mailbox Video. I'm sure it will be even better than I remember.

Glad to hear it! I know what it feels like to finally find a movie that you've been searching for...it's a great feeling. Hope it brings back fond memories for you.

With that sky scraper crumbling to the ground on the poster, I am wagering that this poster art would certainly be edited if it was released on DVD today!

Good find! I once searched for a book for 15 years after I forgot the title of it! It's always a great feeling when you find something you've been looking for for so long!

The first thing I thought when I saw the picture form was: John Saxon? This must be a piece of 70s schlock at its finest!

When I was a kid, I remember watching a film that not only scared the crap out of me but is also scarred me mentally for years. All I remember is the scene at the end of the film (which is set in Hell), where the devil pushes a button or throws a lever that causes the world to explode. A pretty traumatic ending for a 7 year old!

It took me 25 years to finally track the film down, The Devil's Messenger.

So Forum Troll, I can definitely relate to your rejoicing.

Back in Kindergarten, they rounded all of us up and showed us a 16mm film about why you shouldn't talk to strangers. It was really scary, showing stuff like a guy driving up to a kid asking for directions and saying "Get in the car- well come on, get in the car!" It used blinking red lights as symbolism too- it said that there are Red Light People (bad) and Green Light People (good). Needless to say it freaked me out and I couldn't sleep for weeks after that.

Later I still remembered the movie but had forgotten the name of it, and desperately wanted to see it again though I thought I never would. Well, eventually the Educational Archives series started coming out on DVD and I bought every volume, and this particular film I'd been searching for so long was on the "More Sex And Drugs" volume, and the movie's called Red Light, Green Light: Meeting Strangers. Took a minute to recognize it, but it's the one I saw. Watched it about 5 times in a row, and didn't get freaked out this time.

Definite proof that Skip Elsheimer is GOD!

I've seen that flick a couple of times. It was cool, especially if you're into those kind of films.

I bought a VHS copy of Prisoners of the Lost Universe off eBay,and it came today. It's far worse than I remember. The writing is horrible, The acting is horrible. The whole thing is craptacular!

And I love every minute of it.
