Marriage proposal at a concert

My friend really would like to propose to his girlfriend onstage during a concert...(With his large tastes, I don't know exactly which artist, but it would be an artist that would be able to play a big arena/big amphitheater (not a small club)).

Has anyone here ever done this or would know the logical steps into setting this up? Also, will this cost any money?

Thanks
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, it's kinda music.

I got up on stage and proposed to a girl at a Gwen Stefani concert.

Her response? "I ain't no hollaback girl!"

I would say contact the band's management. I thought at first about contacting the venue, but I'm sure most artists don't like surprises in the middle of their shows, and with the communication problems that happen in seemingly every aspect of business, whether music or otherwise, it help to go directly to the band. But that's just my opinion.

I witnessed one with some friends. It was awhile ago. The girls favorite Bryan Adams (told you it was awhile ago) was performing. He got us tickets, and called the radio station that was sponsoring it. They got back to him and said Adams wouldn't do it, but the opening band would do it. I forget who they were.
Anyway, it didn't go over too well IMO. The guy announced it and was like, where is Jay and Jen at? Well they were the 2nd section back from the stage and no one knew they were there. He couldn't see them from the stage. There was a smattering of applause.
The girl liked it though, so I guess that's all that matters.

That's the idea, isn't it?

I knew a dorky guy in high school who could always get a hot date to any of the dances. His secret? Asking them in a highly romantic, public way so they wouldn't dare say no.

Uggh ... tell your friend to spare the audience. They're not paying good money to watch a cheesy wedding proposal.

Agreed. Only he knows for sure, but most girls would probably prefer a private moment, not a public display.

I love how you refer to yourself in the third person.

Oh, I make no bones about being a dorky guy. But hot dates in high school? I make no such claims.

Back in 2001 at the Tattoo The Planet tour during Biohazard a man came up on stage to propose to his girlfriend. Sadly she never showed up on stage, and he was left there, even the singer made some comment like "will ... please come up here to marry this ugly guy" he was smashed in 2 ways, one by his girlfriend, and the other by his favorite band.

I felt sorry for him, so did the guitarist who was like "that was way out of line".

I wouldn't mind being proposed to at a public place (restaurant, family gathering), but geez not that public.

Do you actually think she's the type that would want this kind of proposal?

Perhaps you should do it at your seat when your favorite song is playing or something.

"...and there he was, on stage during a GWAR concert, asking me to marry him. They had just got done playing "F**kin' an Animal". It was the most romantic thing..."
