Reports are coming in that George Harrison's 1971 Concert For Bangladesh is due to be reissued on both remastered CD and DVD on October 25th. Full details are still unclear, but word is that the releases will contain rarely seen and heard bonus materials from both the matinee and evening performances of the show held at Madison Square Garden on August 1st, 1971. Reportedly, Harrison had been searching unsuccessfully for the master tapes of the concert just prior to his death. They were eventually located and the reissue may contain the previously unavailable performances from the concert. Stay tuned.

Hopefully it's a good time to be a Beatles fan and the info is true. I've been wanting to toss my VHS tape of The Concert For Bangladesh for years now, as well as my cheesy looking VHS tape of Let It Be!

Jonathan Clyde, who produced the new project, said the sound had been recorded on 16 tracks by Phil Spector, who was recruited by Harrison after they made his All Things Must Pass recording. He said: "They were trying to replicate the sound of the album."
