Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 3 -- Oct. 25th

From TVShowsOnDVD.com:

"Warner Home Video is preparing to announce The Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 3, with a great deal of information about this release very possibly planned to be discussed this weekend at the San Diego Comic Con. We have the early info for you, though, about this highly anticipated third installment of the beloved best-selling series!

October 25th see the release of this 4-DVD set, featuring Bugs Bunny shorts on the first disc, a salute to Hollywood on the second disc, Porky Pig shorts on the third disc, and Daffy Duck shorts on the fourth disc. 60 cartoons overall, once again lovingly remastered and restored to look like they did when they first debuted decades ago.

Whoopi Goldberg (Star Trek: The Next Generation) is on hand to introduce each disc in the 3rd set. It's not well-known, but Whoopi is an animation collector herself and a huge fan of Bugs and all his Looney friends. Other special features include 9 documentaries, 32 commentary tracks from animator and historians, 11 "vintage treasures from the vault", and 11 music-only or music-and-sound-effects audio tracks. $64.92 is the list price for all of this wonderful stuff! Stay tuned for many more details once the studio formally announces the product.

As an added bonus this time around, Warner is also planning to release the same day the Looney Tunes Movie Collection, a 2-DVD release ($26.99 SRP) that will have The Bugs Bunny/Road-Runner Movie on the first disc and Bugs Bunny's 3rd Movie: 1001 Rabbit Tales on the second disc. In addition to these fine treasures from the history of the Looney Tunes, there will also be extras including 3 documentaries. Both films have been restored to their original theatrical quality. Nice, and thanks to Warner as always for taking care of all of us Looney, Looney fans!"

A big With one disc per Bugs/Daffy/Poky&"Hollywood" this looks to be the best set yet.

Not a huge Goldberg fan here either but I could care less who introduces the toons as long as they are restored & uncut. It's the content that matters, all the other PR stuff is small potatoes.

Excellent news.

In regards to Whoopi Goldberg introductions, I'm glad that there is a fast forward buttom on the DVD player.

Does anybody have any information of which cartoons will be part of the set?

Hopefully her intro is its own chapter to make it easy to skip.

Rereading the article, I think that you are right and that she will attending Comic Con for the announcement and she will not be appearing on the actual DVDs.

When they first started this series I hoped they'd do it like the Disney Treasures, but after owning the first two sets, I much prefer the shorts mixed up instead of a whole disc of one character. It gets kinda boring/redundant watching 45 minutes straight of just one character. Especially, Wile/RR & Sylvester/Tweety, since every short is pretty redundant to begin with.

The indication that she is part of the special features leads me to believe that she will be on the discs.

It could be worse. You could have had Leonard Maltin talking for seven minutes about each cartoon. Yuck!

Here, here. The man is a certifiable wealth of info on the shorts. I think it greatly adds to the WDTs.

Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God

Most of those are my favorite LT shorts.
This is the best set ever!

And Rebel Rabbitt!! I haven't seen that in over 25 years! That's the one where Bugs essentially becomes a terrorist!

It looks like once again, my favorite Bugs short is not on this one (it's the one where Yosemite is king and rides a dragon in a medieval castle). Pantspoop.

The 11 "vintage treasures from the vault," the "Intended for the Adult Collector and May Not Be Suitable for Children," and the introduction by Whoopi Goldberg all suggest to me that this will include the famous "censored 11" as extras. They need a black person to do the intro so there won't be any accusations of "racism."
