Monster Kid Home movies 8mm film from the 50's-80's
Recieved this in an e-mail and thought it might interest some of you. I have no claim on this, and have not seen it, other than the trailers on the web site. It seems to be a neat little time capsule.

Wanted to let you all know about a couple of items that'll help monster-kids forget about the heat and stay as happy as a zombie at a brain buffet. The first is a new dvd called Monster Kid Home movies www.monsterkidhomemovies.com this is a monster kid's dream. It is a collection of home movies shot on film in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s by monster fans like you and me. It is, without a doubt, one of the coolest videos I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. It is an amazing look into the imaginations of these young filmmakers, who, armed with a camera, creativity, and love of monsters, made their own Saturday monster matinees. You'll see films from such legends of the monster industry as Bob Burns, Tom Weaver, Kerry Gammill, Frank Dietz and many more! This is a must-have for any monster kid - so go to www.monsterkidhomemovies.com or www.creepyclassics.com to get your copy today!

I have this DVD, and I love it! I'm sure not everyone will appreciate it, but I love 60s imagery and old movie monsters so it's right up my alley.
Some of the films are laugh-out-loud hilarious, and almost all of them are enjoyable on some level. The ingenuity some of these kids had is unbelievable. Kerry Gammil's Phantom of the Opera make-up job is unreal.. Looks like the cover of Famous Monsters of Filmland.
The commentaries are also very entertaining.
After watching this DVD you walk away feeling like you've just seen something very special. Though the films transport me to a simpler time (during which I wasn't even born), it also makes me appreciate living in the days of the internet and DVD, when such a project can finally exist.

Very cool! I made two super 8 monster movies of my own back in the 1970s. My older sister had this wild coat with long fake purple fur....so that was the costume of the monster
My second film was made after my dad took me to a midnight showing of "Night of the Living Dead". I believe I used about four bottles of catsup and some oatmeal for vomit!
Next time I go home, I'm going to look for those movies. I still have my little projector and a bunch of super 8 and 8mm horror films I purchased from K-Mart.
