I had a theory a few years back, sometime around the second survivor, that the reality tv fad would end once we got to the point where everyone would know someone who knew someone who was in a reality TV show. I'm curious to know how close we are.

Yep. I work with Sam from Richard Branson's reality show. Can't remember it right now.

My roommate went to high school with and knew Tek (sp?) from The Real World.

Coworker had a neighbour who was on Trading Spaces, I forget which revision.
Parents knew the judge who was on survivor a year or so ago.

My wife and I are friends with this one girl who was on this daytime reality show called "Starting Over." She had to stay in the house until she was ready to get married, or something. I think it's still on the air.

A girl I dated knew the one-legged guy who was on (and won?) the first Big Brother.

I work with a girl who was friends in high school with the hot dark haired chick on The Benefactor.

Ex-g/f's (happycamper) friend was on For Better Or Worse and got married on TV or some shit.

I was about to say no, and then I remembered that my friend's mom was a featured designer on HGTV's "Designer's Challenge." It was the Detroit loft episode, and her design was the one chosen.

Small world. I work in the same building as the winner of that show.

One of my best friends from college (one of my roommates Sr year) had his (and his wife's) living room remodeled on Designer's Challenge.

A friend of mine has been on several of those dating shows like "Blind Date" and whatnot.

A co-worker's daughter was in The Amazing Race. I don't think she won or I probably would've heard about it.

A good friend was on "What Not To Wear" and got engaged on the show. I was interviewed for it, but they cut me out to focus on the proposal instead. I think you can see me in a brief cut somewhere in the show.

The drug rep from Tampa on VH1's Kept I have met several times since my father is a doctor.

I know someone whose brother was on MTV's Room Raiders. He lost.

I did a project with Pauly Shore once. Not sure if that's something I should be admitting, tho.

A friend from high school dated some dude from "The Real World" (forget which season, but he went to VMI). She was on an episode or two.

Know someone who knows someone? Well, I know people who knows family members of a family featured in Extreme Home Makeover (the Kansas City episode). The house is not very far from me, just a few blocks, but I haven't even been by there yet.

One of my classmates was on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire and a classmate's boyfriend was in (and won!) Wheel of Fortune (got a car).

Does that count?

I almost voted no, then I remembered that I have a second cousin that knows the second Joe Millionaire.

My niece knows Rupert from Survivor through her work with kids in Indianapolis.
