Best 1960 era DVD's?
AMC is playing Easy Rider this month, and I saw it for the first time. I am suprised a movie this good never made it in front of my eyes before.
What are the good 1960's movies? I looked up Easy Rider at amazon, and they have it for $11 bucks. They also have Five Easy Pieces, another flick I have not seen. Is it worth a blind buy?
What movies from the 1960's should everyone have?

For some reason I think you'd be more interested in 70's movies, but oh well.
2001: A Space Odyssey
West Side Story
Dr. Strangelove
The Apartment
Psycho
There are many more, but those should help get you started.

Personally, for that era I like the colorful, 60s-stylish films like
1. the original "The Pink Panther" and "Shot in the Dark"
2. Doris Day/Rock Hudson/James Gardner films ("Pillow Talk", "Thrill of It All", "Move Over, Darling" (coming eventually on DVD), and "Send Me No Flowers")
3. Sandra Dee/Bobby Darin films ("If a Man Answers")
etc.

Just watched the new Hi-Def transfer of Charade tonight. Still one of my all time favorite films.
There are really too many 60's films to recommend, but Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Wild Bunch would also be right at the top of my list.
