Are Buckcherry Just The Best Damn Band Ever?

I've only recently discovered them, and dammit, they rock! Not to mention a few decent ballads as well. I am LOVING the songs 'Lit Up', 'Related' and 'Check Your Head'.

Anyone else a fan?

They had a really good song on CMJ a few years back. I remember part of the chorus was "in the movies" but don't know if that was the name.

They seemed like a pretty rockin little band that didn't take themselves too seriously.

Best band ever? No.

That song is "Lit Up".

Buckcherry is an alright rock band, but they don't do anything that hasn't been done before or after.

Their debut album (Buckcherry - which is the one being referenced by the OP) I loved. They reminded me of an early Guns N Roses-type sound. I really thought they were going to be huge after a few albums. But their second album, Time Bomb, was pretty weak. The lead singer bolted after that. Last I heard about him, he was one of the ones to try out for the-soon-to-be-named Velvet Revolver. While I don't think I'd submit them as the best band in the world, I would recommend their first album for anyone that enjoys a good, dirty rock n roll album.

Best band ever? No. Far from it. A great band though. That first CD is pretty amazing. I like to say they sound like a rockin' Black Crowes.

No, they are not the best band ever. But, I do like them. Good rock, especially the first album.

Ok, I should point out that of course they are NOT the best band ever, obviously. BUT, they do rock, and perhaps the fun and jest in my original post did not translate as well as I might have hoped.

Really? Josh Todd (the lead singer) was touring solo recently. I'd love for there to be a 3rd Buckcherry album -- they were a promising rock band, IMO.

...just answered my own question:

http://www.radio306.com/nuke/modules...ticle&sid=1126

Reunited Los Angeles hard rockers BUCKCHERRY have completed work on their third album, tentatively due in Japan in late July/early August. The follow-up to 2001's "Time Bomb" was produced by guitarist Keith Nelson and marks the band's recording debut with their revamped lineup, featuring a new drummer, bassist and rhythm guitarist. There are rumors that Jimmy Ashurst is their new bass player (Jimmy played with Izzy Stradlin of GUNS N' ROSES in Izzy's solo band IZZY STRADLIN & THE JU JU HOUNDS), but this has yet to be officially confirmed. A U.S. record deal for the new album has yet to be secured.

I love the cocaine.....I love the cocaine.

At the Movies song or whatever it's called was a good song too.

I like them because they are really straight drug-fueled rock 'n roll. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also, they can't be considered the best band ever because they didn't originate in the 70s. That's the only reason people consider AC/DC, who made the same-sounding record about 10 times, so fantastic.

Well, in the liner notes to their debut album, Josh Todd said a special thanks to Bon Scott and Michael Jackson.

Awesome, the 90's revolution continues! In the last month I've seen Collective Soul and Better Than Ezra in concert and coming up I'm hitting Gin Blossoms and The Wallflowers. Rock out.

I really dug Buckcherry's first album, it was all about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Their second album wasn't bad, but seemed like they were going through the motions.

Josh Todd, the lead singer, released a solo album and Yogi, lead guitar, had joined up with the Wallflowers for touring at least.

Just re-listened to both albums the other day. Solid rock. not great or innovative, but nice loud crunchy guitars and lyrics about sex and drugs. Can't complain.

I loved the first album, but I couldn't get into anything off the second album except for the first song ("Time Bomb"?)
