Wasn't the taping for this season in the news for a lot of police issues or soemthig? I thought i heard that they get in a lot of fights because the people in austin hate them (well, MTV, not the actual people).

Having lived in Austin, the people are cool, but they are not an MTV type of crowd. Not to mention that there are some big boys out there and getting into fights with them is just stupid.

As for Nehemiah, anyone remember the Real World sketch from the Chappelle Show where he talks about MTV always sticking one black guy with 5 crazy white people? Couldn't stop laughing cause you knw they were goiing to blame it on him.

I don't understand why black people continue to go on the show. If they're normal like Jaques(sp?) then they get no air time. If they have an incident then they are the "angry black guy". Not to mention always having to deal with the person that's "never really had any black friends before". Honestly when will they learn that they're in a no win situation?

Got it on the DVR. I still enjoy the Real World but is it me or did the show go from being about putting people together just to see what would happen to now just being a laundry list of titillating scenes: obligatory lesbian kiss, obligatory shower scene, obligatory bar fight... It's not nearly as unpredictable and honest as it once was.

I caught the repeat last night. I might keep watching this season, don't think I've watched a full season since the Las Vegas one. So some of the people are under 21 but as soon as they get there they all start drinking and then go to a bar (guess that really is like the read world). Melinda does sorta have a Paris Hilton way about her but with much bigger boobs. In episode 1 at least one of those guys should have gotten arrested and looks like down the line some of them do, I'd put the arrest over/under at 3.5 for the season, the hookup with another house member over/under of couples (said of couples cause I'm sure someone will hook up with more than one other person) at 4.5

Jo is hot. I like Nehemiah alot. He was really cool about the situation with Jo and didnt act like a punk or an overly angry idiot. I was pissed how they blamed him for everything when he had NOTHING to do with it. If anything they couldve blamed Jo but it was really the fault of the drunk fighters. Black guy gets ostrichsized already . Some seasons its well deserved (Karamo, David from NO and LA) and some seasons its not (Nehemiah so far, Jacquese, and Theo)

Although they didn't make an ostrich out of him , they might have ostracized him.

For the most part I agree with you gmal2003. However, David from LA was Royally fucked over by that bitch Beth and the Sherrif chick. He was just playing with that black girl and all was cool with her when it was over...until... BETH convinced Tammy(?) that she basically had been "sexually assaulted". Then the Sherrif chick jumped in because she's an Officer and it all went downhill from there.

Dave Chappelle helped him get on the show and that season and incident was basically the inspiration for Chappelle's spoof of the show IIRC.

I caught this ep tonite and it was wild. When I see these shows I'm always fascinated by how ready to "hook up" these strangers are. I'm also bummed that the Black guys on the real world seem to have few if any chicks to hook up with. The hook ups, if tey happen for him at all always have to be with chicks, or guys, from outside of the house. Oh well, what are you gonna do....
