Awhile ago I blind-bought California Suite - it was an all-star ensemble, and it won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (Maggie Smith). It figured it must be a good movie...for me, it wasn't. For whatever reason, I didn't like the movie at all.

Now I see Lovers & Other Strangers is available on DVD, and everytime I look for it to rent, it is not there. I can only buy it, but I"m hesitant to because I feel it might be just like California Suite - an all-star ensemble and it was nominated for Best Supporting actor (Richard Castellano of The Godfather fame "Fat Clemenza").

Is Lovers And Other Strangers on a par with California Suite, or is it a far superior film? Or, gasp, even worse?
