Very well done, and I like that he stated people shouldn't blame their own disappointments in life on the PT.

Good article and pretty damn funny too. But I do think there are legitimate gripes about the movie. I'm not one of the people moaning about how awful it was. I was entertained. But I was also mildy disappointed because the movie could've been so much more. The story was all there. But they REALLY needed a better script writer. And I don't think there's anything wrong with having expected more out of the movie.

He's a brave dude. I don't think I would've went anywhere near that Toys R Us if I had known DV would be there. I would've been the little kid crying like someone stole my lollipop if my parents took me after seeing SW for the first time.

Kevin Smith and Star Wars Fans

I liked most of the article that shares his childhood love for SW. Its something a lot of us can relate to. But what I can't relate to is his violent expletive laden tirade against the people who wrote dumb things to him.

There are Prequel haters and there are Prequel "true believers". And thats fine. But what I can't understand is why the situation has to rise to the level where people call each other "Motherfuckers" and threaten others with physical harm. Never mind who started it. Why? Because they hate the Prequels? Should I get bent out of shape because I thought Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut was brilliant and other people think its the dumbest movie ever made? Thats called Stupidity stupid. Stupid he actually wanted to print it on a national magazine and stupid he has to stoop to that level of behavior that would get him banned at most internet forums. Of course he's a famous movie director so he gets the privilege to spout out crap for all the world to see. If Paris Hilton and Britney Spears gets to spout crap I guess Kevin Smith is entitled as any celebrity.

The fact is most people don't give a shit about Star Wars either way. They think Jedi's, Wookies, Darth Vader, Yoda, and the Death Star is a bunch of crap and Star Wars fans a bunch of morons who don't live in the Real world and deal with Real Issues. This is how many people view SW fans and this kind of thing just confirms it.

Wake the hell up!! Why does it have to get to this level? Its Star Wars. I repeat. Its Star Wars. Most people will have moved on to War of the Worlds or Batman Begins or "REAL LIFE" in a few months. I know what he said was in jest and a way of defending himself but that kind of behavior makes me want to dissassociate myself from Star Wars as much as possible.

If some idiot feels the need to take my opinions about a friggin movie as a personal affront and threaten me with physical violence they can go ahead do it. I have a Remington 12 gauge shotgun and a SIG Sauer .45ACP loaded and ready for those types of sociopaths. They can bring their threats and their lightsabers if they want. If Kevin Smith feels threatened he could always arm himself and not respond to the morons instead of making phony threats in Rolling Stone. There are Mental cases and freaks everywhere.

I'm not surprised Kevin Smith can't wait to stop talking about Star Wars. He ruined it for himself.

And EVERYONE. This is most likely the last time we'll ever see a new Star Wars movie. Enjoy it and remember to keep it fun.
