The Garbage Pail Kids Movie > July 12th!

From dvdanswers:

MGM Home Entertainment has announced the release of The Garbage Pail Kids Movie for the 12th of July. The disc will feature an anamorphic widescreen (1.85:1) transfer, Dolby Digital Mono audio, and a theatrical trailer. You can expect the disc to retail for around $14.95 when it hits stores, and we hope to be able to bring you the high resolution artwork shortly.

Woohoo!

Ahh yes, fond memories both collecting the cards and watching the movie over and over.

Hmm. I had a number of cards as a kid, but I had no idea that a movie had been made.

I remembered there being a movie and I think I only saw it once when I was younger. I haven't seen it since, but I've always wanted to. Looks like this will be my chance.

This is an awful movie. There are better ways to relive your youth.

I have a lot of the cards too (Still like 'em) but I can't say the same for the movie.

Wasn't there a cartoon series planned around the same time as the movie but never released?

I collected the cards and I don't even remember them making a movie! How even this "film" gets out before Rad and Monster Squad is beyond me.

Mondo Kane,

There was a short lived animated series. I think it lasted roughly 6 episodes and only aired in Iceland. Copies are afloat it looks interesting...........

I just noticed this on The Digital Bits and I'm glad to see it wasn't an April Fools' joke (TDB's mention of it was April 1).

I used to dig the cards too but don't think I ever saw the movie. Worth a rental at least!

I can't believe the Garbage Pail Kids is coming out? I never thought this would happen. I remember makingf a thread about two years ago bout this. They should have at least added the cartoons as special features seeing those will probably never be seen again.

no bump for this thread.

Well I'll do it, this movie was complete and utter garbage. Never seen it before purchase, and thought I would add it to my collection. Luckily I only spent 10 bucks on it.
