DVD Profiler help (new entries locked automatically)...?

All of a sudden (past couple months) whenever I add a new DVD to Profiler, it automatically locks the DVD by 'SRP'. I don't know why and can't figure how it defaults to that lock option always.

Can anyone help me?

You can turn this off in the options.

Tools > Options > Defaults tab > Lock SRPs ....

Just untick it.

I imagine they do that to try to keep people from changing the prices and submitting them, and so that if anyone does change the price of a disc, you won't download the updated price.

In their rules for profile submission they instruct you not to update the retail price if and when it goes down. I don't know why that is.

It's so that the value of your collection doesn't go down over time, as releases get marked down in price.

but you can't even calculate total value with Profiler, so what's the point?

No, it's because the profile for a UPC must contain the original data at the time of the initial release and that includes the original SRP. Profiles and contributions are now voted on and locked down, to help further preserve the original data.
