Nope, site above and IMDB also comfirms they were Colt m733a's. they were the only full auto guns in that scene.

the HK91 or it could have been G3, but probably a 91 was used by Kilmer in the drive-in scene

Sizemore did have a Galil at one point too, I think in the robbery scene, since he had a shotgun at the drive-in

well, Colt CAR15 was the term used on the early model of that style, sometimes called a "commando" Another very similar model is the Colt XM177

Go down to a state that allows full auto firearms by getting a transfer of ownerhip paper done with and have a blast. When in vegas, I typically go down to the shooting ranges since they will gladly rent you out a full auto.

and be prepared to spend $10,000 or more for an actual M16 lower receiver(which is what's legally the firearm). plus the $200 tax stamp and long background check. plus local LEO sign off on the paperwork (unless you have a corporation). a registered "drop in auto sear" is probably cheaper but still will be a few thousand plus the price of an AR to put it in
alternatively you could get a semi-automatic AR15 and get a short barreled upper receiver so you'd still have the look. still requires the tax stamp and other hassles but probably under $1000, possibly even under $1000 including the SBR tax stamp
or if you want the long flash suppressor and no tax stamp get this upper. all you need is to be in a state without an AWB for this one http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/u...ura2b11555.asp

I just watched this movie last night again. I swear everytime I watch it I see or pick up on something new. Finally getting my wife interested in this show. Micheal Mann ties things up nicely but we don't really know what happens with Val Kilmer's character after he leaves. Just wish we could see what happens.
