Bill the Butcher vs. Al Swearingen: who wins?

I was watching Deadwood and Al Swearingen reminds me a lot of Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York. I was wondering who, if the two of these guys ever had a conflict, would be the victor? IMO, this would all be about who got homefield advantage, as they both seem equal in their bad ass nature.

Also, if you feel this belongs in TV talk more than Movie Talk, feel free to move it.

I'll vote choice #4: Who the #@&^ is Al Swearingen? And how dare you compare him to the one of the new millennium's greatest villains!

Ya know Doc, I was just about to post a new thread about Daniel D's performance in Gangs of New York and now I have to wait

But I know both and I'm gonna say straight up that Bill Cutting would whoop his ass....no matter where the fight took place.

I've never heard of either. "Bill the Butcher" has a cooler name, so I voted for him.

Top hat beats cowboy hat.

You guys are really missing out on not watching Deadwood & not seeing one of the greatest performances that has every graced TV in Al Swearingen.

I don't know who wins but Swearingen is the bigger bad ass for sure.

Bill the Butcher would win. Swearingen usually has somebody else do the dirty work for him.

Stew

PS. Achilles would kick the shit out of Maximus

Exactly, they are two completely different types of 'bad guys'.

Not even close. Swearingen nearly got his ass kicked by fancyman Seth Bullock. Butcher would clobber him.

In a physcial struggle I would definitely go with Bill the Butcher, but I meant this to be a question of who would win a power struggle, in which case I voted for homefield advantage.

In Al's defense, he's been suffering from kidney stones. That's the only reason he lost the fight. Wait til he gets healthy...

Bill the Butcher would gut Al Swearingen on the block. He would be Wednesday’s special at 99 cents a pound.

Yeah. Al has a more intense personality, but Bill's the better fighter and more badass because of that.

amazing

Truly amazing..I yahooed a search specifically to find a comparison of the two legendary gangsters who would gleefully dispose of today's "gangbangin" c****sucker!

Well-my assesment? Neither of these two men are stupid enough to fight fair.Even in a challenge according to "the ancient laws of combat"...they are treacherous as well as tough .I think Bill would win...only because he'd THROW his knife at Al before Al could get close. But make no mistake...even though Bill may win....he'd sure as hell FEEL Al's presence afterward..win lose or draw!

Agreed?

Al Swearingon would win because I'd have his mother f***ing back. (Figuratively. I'd actually be creeping up behind Bill with a tomahawk.)
