Who do you contact to chime in on not making remakes?

Just wondering . With all the bad scripts, and awful remakes floating around, what part of the company do you write/e mail to tell then NOT to do it. Not that I think one single letter or e mail would do a lot of good...just a thought.

the majors hold the rights to most of these so lets start there
Fox
Paramount
Universal
Sony
Warner
MGM
Disney

Since there have been remakes almost as long as there have been movies, why would you expect any change now?

Please don't remake Bullit. I will not go see it! Yes, it will probably make a lot of money at the box office, but I will not go see it!

Hmm, making lots of money or one disgruntled person?

Tough decision there

Exactly. After re-reading my post I see my sarcasm didn't get across very well.

it's not that i think it will stop...I just would love to hear some e-mails from you guys discussing this. I think it would be fun to find a crazed honeymooners fan, and see what he would write to the studio.

I wish they would remaked bad movies than remake good ones. Because good movies will always be remembered but bad movies you forget about in a week. Anyone remember City By The Sea? No. Ok let's remake it.

But if that guy existed, he'd be the smartest mofo ever to live!

[And that being said, I would pay money to see Eureka's Castle: The Movie.]

But is this crap really a "remake?" When you totally turn the original on its head (Dragnet as a comedy? Starsky and Hutch as a comedy? Why not do Lassie as a horror film -- think Cujo, but cuter!) is it really a "remake?" For the moment, let's just leave out the just plain awful stuff and question the "new genre" movies?

Let's remake Flipper . . . but we'll set it in the future after dolphins have developed enough to not only speak English, but to build special suits that allow them to survive on land . . . then we can make it a futuristic "buddy" pic starring Danny Glover as his partner! Script by Joss Whedon.

How about I Love Lucy the Movie starring Mo'Nique as Lucy? Snoop Dogg is Ricky Ricardo. "Lucy, Bitshizzle! I am in the hizzouse!" Subtitled: "Afrometavitamin."

All in the Family set in 1940's Germany with Archie Bunker (played of course by Ben Stiller) employing Jews in his bar to keep them alive and safe from Hitler (played by Chris Rock)?

"Deliverance 2: Squeal Harder" where Ned Beatty's son (played by Adam Sandler) teams up with a wheelchair bound Burt Reynolds (played by the Rock) to seek revenge in a backwoods society (led by Dave Chappelle). David Lynch attached to direct.

A re-visioning of Casablanca set in a futuristic intergalactic bar starring Bernie Mac and Academy Award winner Gwynneth Paltrow. (Special guest appearance by the three-tittied lady from Total Recall.)

James Cameron directing "The Love Boat" with Leonardo DiCpario and Kate Winslet. "Love on the high seas is just the tip of the iceberg!"

I believe I've seen this thread before. The original was better.

Would you settle for Udo Kier and Razzie Award winner Pamela Anderson?

If you do not like the remake, do not give the studio your money. Do not buy the movie ticket or DVD. Eventually, if enough remakes bomb, Hollywood may make something original.
