He was one of my favorite characters in the film. I hope he finally "finds his knife".

I met him and he was quite a character. He really seemed to relish meeting fans of TCM.

He was also in Race w/ the Devil. (underrated horror flick of the 70s)

Franklin was one of the best characters ever to appear in a horror movie.

Franklyn was the one in the wheelchair.

This is really sad news. As some of you have said, he was one of my favorite characters as well. He will be missed.

Weird, just watched TCM again on Friday, and my friends and I all commented on what an effectively irritating character Franklin is. He'll be missed.

I think I agree with all, he was the best character in that movie. Funny and annoying at the same time.

I met him last year at Cinema Wasteland in Cleveland. The other cast members said he was just as annoying off screen as he was on. Turns out he felt he wasn't that great of an actor so he stayed in character the whole time. It works. The chemistry between him and the other actors is palpable. They didn't realize until years later what a nice guy he really was.
