The Tears (Brett Anderson/Bernard Butler new group)

I have been reading in NME that this recent reteaming of ex-Suede members Brett Anderson, Bernard Butler has been a hot ticket since a recent December show was well received and the ShockWaves NME Awards Show at the London Astoria on February 16 is a must see (sold out) show. My question is, has anyone heard if and when a single/album will materialize?

A composer of a film I worked on (he seemed to know every act in London personally) was telling me about this last March. So they have been writing together for awhile now. I thought I also read that the album is due in spring.

I hope its nothing short of amazing (fingers crossed)! I could really use something along the line of Suede these days. I love fun/dumb in a smart way pop songs and that is where Suede excelled ( of course I'm negating more serious stuff like "My Dark Star").

Someone posted some bootlegged tracks from that December Tears performance on one of the newsgroups, and it sounded to me like it was much the same sound as Suede, at least the couple tracks I listened to. What they'll sound like on an actual recording is another matter, obviously.

I've heard the tracks from the show on the newsgroup interesting. Very suede as Shiv mentions. Quality is not the best.

BBC6 Music reports:

Bernard Butler has revealed he doesn't know why his debut album with The Tears has been delayed.

Bernard has teamed up with old Suede bandmate Brett Anderson for the record called Here Come The Tears, which will now come out in June rather than May, as previously announced.

But speaking to Vic McGlynn earlier today on 6 Music, he said he was none the wiser as to why.

He said: "I've got no idea, no-one told me anything. I found it out on the internet."

He then joked that the delay could add an air of mystery to their appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

"We're hoping it (the album) will come out just after Glastonbury so we can go onstage and headline at a festival where nobody knows any of the songs," he laughed.

I got the cd single for refugees at Virgin in sf for $3.99 wicked cheap for an import cd single. I noticed that almost all import cd singles are the same price at virgin.

Also acquired most of the cd today. I'll purchase it upon us release. I may get the UK release also had 1 listen while working and I like it a lot.

CD single 1 (with one extra non-album song) or CD single 2 (with two non-album songs) for $4? Cause if it's the current trend of only putting two songs on one CD single I wouldn't pay more than four dollars for it anyway.

Head's up - another single on the 27th of June -

Lovers

have the album headed my way from HMV - can't wait to hear it.

I listened to the whole album and really liked it. Just good melodies and well-written tunes.

The second single, "Lovers," is out now, in the same three flavors as the first: two CD singles, one with one b-side, one with two b-sides and video, and 7" vinyl with one b-side (on green vinyl).

B-sides:
CD1: "Song For the Migrant Worker"
CD2: "Low-Life," "The Primitive"
7": "Because You're Worthless"
