I'm sure everyone has seen the "Asian Collectors Edition" DVDs on eBay. I always assumed that these were bootleg copies, but recently have seen several sellers state that they are copyrighted (I assume from Asia). Is there ever such a thing as a legitimate "Asian Collectors Edition" DVD (such as the multiple Stargate series listed on eBay)?

bootlegs....stay away...and stargate is out in both r1 and r2...go for the legit copies

If it's an American movie or TV series and listed as Asian, then it is most likely a bootleg. If it is a legimate dvd, then the seller would be more specific and say Korean, Japanese, etc. Collector's Edition rather than the generic Asian Collector's edition. Ebay is terrible when it comes to policing foreign dvds, so it's easy for a seller to say it's copyrighted because they know Ebay won't do anything about it.
