Who can't wait? I can.
Especially since acclaimed supporting actress Ashanti will be in it.

I had a feeling you had a mis post....no big deal....I'm sure it will be moved soon...
as far as the movie goes, it looks like a poor remake of lean on me in a way....not interested even a little bit, But Sam Jackson has to eat....
Now with that said...
This Party's over (insert purple light saber)

It's from the makers of all those MTV movies, you know Save the last dance, Vasity Blues, Perfect Score, and of course, that dvdtalk classic Good Burger. I'm surprised you're all not more excited. I know I'm not!

MTV Films has only made a ONE film that could be considered "great" and that was Election. Everything else has been either shit or decent; with Jackass: The Movie and Orange County being two of MTV Films' "in-house" flicks that I enjoy. And you can't count Better Luck Tomorrow or Napoleon Dynamite, because they just slapped their name to those two films. Then again, NOBODY saw Better Luck Tomorrow (I blame that one on the Asian backlash that happened at my high school when that flick was released).
But Coach Carter looks like shit. Not only that, the film's over two hours long. I have better things to do for two hours, like see White Noise again.

Joe's apartment, Beavis and Butthead do America, and Dead man on campus? Rate them what you will
Beavis and Butthead was overrated (I never liked them to begin with).
Dead Man On Campus was a complete travesty compared to the original screenplay (which was comic genius).

Did anyone see this?
I saw this on Thursday and I enjoyed it a lot. I mean it's nothing really new but it still worked.
I agree that it's like Lean On Me meets Hoosiers.
Samuel L. Jackson gave a great performance.
It was dramatic (I teared a few times) and had some funny moments
The 2 best ones where the theater (mostly black crowd) was cracking up were:
If you wanna see a feel good sports movie, then I'd recommend seeing this. I give it 3 out of 4 stars.

I think this might be worth seeing just for SLJ. I would certainly not go in expecting anything other than a teacher-inspires-students flick. It's probably just a touch more of a feel-good movie than his previous teacher movie, 187.
