Opinions wanted on Killers: Hot Fuss
I really like the song "Somebody Told Me" and was wanting opinions on the rest of the album. It's only $7.99 this week at Circuit City so I was thinking of picking it up. I searched for a thread for this album but could not find one. Thanks!

I like it a whole lot. There are only 3-4 songs I consistently skip.
The CD has a very '80s type of feel to it. The songs all sound quite different, so you should check out the 30 second clips on Itunes.
Besides tracks 2 and 4 (the radio hits) I like 3 and 8 a whole lot. I highly recommend it.

I've seen some good reviews so when Target had it for $6.99 I asked Mrs. Pusser to pick it up. She not only did that, but purchased it as well. I have not heard it yet.

Its a great CD. My favorite of this year. "Somebody Told Me" is only the 5th or 6th best song on the album IMHO. As mentioned, it has an 80s feel (I get vibes of Duran Duran and Depeche Mode).

I gave Franz Ferdinand a go because I liked the Killers and their Take Me Out song was good and similar style, but I found I disliked their entire disc minus the one single =\

Too bad the domestic version doesn't have "Glorious Indie Rock & Roll." Definitely download that song from somewhere.

sorry to bump this thread, but i finally gave the album a good listen. The first half is great but the second half is a bit weak. I'd have to say that my favorite song on the disc is the opener "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine".
Great bassline and the lyrics are pretty messed up. Supposedely there are other songs on the disc that tie in with this one but I'm not sure. Either way, for 10 bucks or less this is a great disc to pick up.

Give the second half of the disc a good chance, it will catch up to your hopes. Midnight Show is the other song about the killing of a girlfriend.
"I took my baby's breath, underneath the chandelier, and watched her disappear, into the Midnight Show."
On Top - starts out kind of strange, but really rocks when you listen to it.
Change Your Mind - this sounds to me like a really strong nod to Morrissey. Especially in how it is sung and the lyrics. I love it.
Believe Me Natalie - I think this is probably the weakest song on the disc. Not too much direction, but I do like the underlying music. Very melodic.
Midnight Show - I like the strong beats and the lyrics make it a much deeper song.
Everything Will Be Allright - I love the gothic sound to this song. Very unlike anything else on the album.
Everything before On Top is perfect in my opinion.
You should check out some of their B-Sides. All are great:
Glamourous Indie Rock N Roll
Under the Gun
The Ballad of Michael Valentine
Who Let You Go
Show You How

Love the album. It's probably recieved the most play in my car. I agree with those who have said the second half of the CD isn't as strong, however as a whole, it's great.

The Indy Rock and Roll song on the UK release is great AND sounds nothing like the rest of the album.
