Mazika...Bongo/drums...arabian style
I stumbled across an album by a guy named Ahmed Tarkan, called Belly Dance Music. It has a definite Mid East feel to it, with lots of drums, tabla, and percussion. The music is mostly instrumental...most songs don't have any lyrics at all.
Can anyone recommend some more music that might be this type of style? I could listen to this album on repeat all day.
Mazikacity.com provides mp3s of his songs for free if you sign up.

Do you mind if there are lyrics?
Go to newpersia.com - create an account and listen to Shahram Nazeri , Shajarian , Mohammad Eftekhari and Bijan Mortazavi.
I can compare the above to the Western world's progressive rock...complex patterns, etc. all leading up to a grand finale.
Check them out, you'll enjoy.....them...all!
