Anyone else excited for new Collective Soul?
Comes out Tuesday, I've always been a fan so I'm looking forward to it. Though, this is the first post-Ross effort, and he is such an amazing guitar player.
New track sounds pretty good.

I have to wonder if there truly is a market for this band anymore. I mean back in 1998 the market was flooded with bands like Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind and Collective Soul. No one is really interested anymore.

Actually, there is apparently quite a bit of interest. They recently sold out a fairly large venue in Chicago a few weeks in advance. I happen to think that their music is extremely bland and occasionally annoying, but there are fans out there.

Spoken like someone who doesn't turn on the radio anymore. I'm not being insulting at all - I wish I had the blissful ignorance of thinking the same thing!!

You got me there. I haven't listened to the radio in a long time. I thought stuff like Ashlee Simpson was hot now though.

I've enjoyed all of the releases thus far, I never included them with bands like Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind. It was always the knack for sweet crunchy riffs and melodic guitar solo's that attracted me to them. Neither Matchbox nor 3EB strayed too far from straight ahead pop.
Csoul always had good licks, and catchy vocals.
I am however listening to this online, and my initial impression is that it is okay, nothing fantastic thus far. Ed's vox are good, but the music leaves something to be desired thus far. Only a few riffs to speak of at this point.
I'll still pick it up to support them, as I always felt them to be under-rated.

I've had this album for about 2 weeks now and I like it a lot. It most closely resembles their last album, "Blender", which also happens to be my favorite album by them.

As for CS, I have their GH and I'm happy with that (although I wish it had No More, No Less).

PS - their GH was missing a LOT of their hits...
