I saw The Searchers w/John Wayne for the first time today, and let me say I was pleasantly surprised at how funny it was!

The part that made me laugh harder than Ive laughed at any Western is when one of the searchers lays down to sleep, and the big indian woman he accidentally married tries to sleep next to him. He promptly with two feet boots her down the hill! Hahaha what a great unexpected moment!

You just love to hate women.

Yeah, i found this film to be surprisingly comedic. A little too comedic though. It's a highly regarded movie but I just didn't like it. Nothing about it really said "great movie" to me. It just feels too offbeat and uneven as far as those comedic and dramatic moments go.

Man! When he shoots that dead Injun's eyes out so he can't enter the afterlife -- man, I nearly spit out my Cheerios! HYSTERICAL!!!!

My favorite gut-buster was when he scalps the main bloody Injun as revenge for scalping ma earlier in the flick! Cracks me up just thinking about it!
